Hmmm...as far as I know McLeod's Daughter's started as we know it...the series.  It could be true, though I've never heard of it

Yes there was a McLeod's Daughters the movie.  That is where the idea of a series came from, it was a one off Television movie that I saw when I was younger.  It was similar and had Clare and Tess, Jack was alive in the movie but died from a fall from his horse, Jack was played by Jack Thompson in the movie.  The movie was aired in 1996 and was a 90 minute telemovie on Win.  The house and everything was the same as in the series.  In the original movie I can't remember who played Tess but Clare was played by All Saints star Tammy MacIntosh (Charlotte).  You can see the original telemovie on Season 1 of McLeods Daughters DVD, you will find it on the special features DVD.  I hope this has helped you out!

I've seen the movie and the first episode, and so far I liked Kym Wilson better as an actor than Bridie Carter.
