Sally: Mac, you're a regular hero.
Hildreth: (To Mac.) If I act like a railroad president at times, forgive me. I'm really a section hand at heart.
Mac: Nice try.
Nicole: Nice tries finish last.
Mildred: If this isn't L.A. and there isn't any newstand and you don't anyone to escape, then someone is.
Mildred: Nicole. I saw her through the window.
Mac: Why didn't you tell me? (Runs off.)
Mildred: I just did!
Nicole: Who do I call if I hear a prowler?
Mac: Call his wife.
Conductor: If you're thinking someone could have jumped off, forget it. It's suicide heaven out there.
Mildred: (Holding half-a-dozen drinks.) Help me with this, will you?
Detective: Sure. (He takes one, sips it and leaves.)
Mildred: If this train was a plane, I'd tell you where to get off.
Brown: I never heard of him.
Nicole: Don't let that upset you, dear. He never heard of you, either.
Hildreth: You make it hard for people to like you, don't you?
Brown: I make it impossible!
Mildred: May I say something amusing?
Mac: I wish you'd try.
Mildred: Murder on a Train. We'll get Hitch to direct it.
Mildred alludes to director Alfred Hitchcock's 1951 film Stranger on a Train.
