Episode Summary

EDIT
Sydney (claiming to be someone named Miranda) hangs around the beach house and attempts to seduce Michael. Michael regains his memory when he is nearly struck by a car in a restaurant parking lot, but doesn't immediately reveal this. Michael leaves Sydney in an embarrassing situation in Jane's bedroom, prompting a suggestive remark from Chris. Michael confronts Kimberly and dares her to kill him, but she decides that she loves him too much to finish him off. Billy and Alison bicker constantly at the office. Jo extends an olive branch to the Carters, only to have them laugh in her face. Palmer tells Amanda that he cannot go to prison before paying off some debts, as he fears his creditors will harm her. He tells her of a secret safe deposit box and convinces her to withdraw $500,000. Palmer kidnaps Jake on the boat at gunpoint, and explains that he and Brittany are going to take the money and flee to Mexico. Brittany double-crosses Palmer, shooting him in the back. Jake discovers that the boat is laced with explosives; Brittany activates her detonator, destroying the boat.moreless

  • Grand delusions indeed.

An explosive episode brings the conclusion of two storylines, as noted by the other review, and that's why this episode is an absolute classic.

In a classic showdown, one partner betrays the other, and it makes for an amazing drama. I love how Palmer tricked Amanda again - looks like this is yet another thing Amanda will have to learn from. Even tough characters like her need to learn a lesson, but you always expect family to be there for you. The ending scenes were amazing, as we're left wondering what happens to both Palmer and Jake.

Meanwhile, Michael finally regains his memory and it indeed serves for some amazing scenes. Sydney, in her typical fashion, plays with Michael's mind, only to end up getting tricked herself. The ending scenes with Michael and Kimberly were amazing. I knew Kimberly won't exit the series, so it wasn't really a shocker, but those were great scenes.

Everything else was meh, or mostly the Billy and Allison stuff. Jo's story is kinda interesting.moreless
  • A great episode that sees two big plots come to a conlcusion.

    10
First off, the aftermath of Michael's accident and his amnesia ends when he finally regains his memory. His scene when he ties Sydney to the bed is hysterical and contains some classic lines. And then his scene when he finally reveals to Kimberly that he knows she ran him over is great as well.

Secondly, the plot with Palmer's revenge against Jake. You kind of feel for Amanda in scene where she realizes that her father has duped her once again. Then the episode comes to an explosive conclusion when Brittany double crosses Palmer and blows up the boat. Seems like the Pretty Lady has had its share of troubles.

Just another great episode from Season 3 (seems like they all were).moreless
