I tend to agree with LA Times review of The Pickup. It did started as alight drama (what it is supposed to be) but soon turned into some heavy drama segments with one exception, everybody in my household laughed and applauded when Terry bumped Marcus with the car.

This show has always had a great balance of drama and comedy, but I really like when they have a heavy episode once in a while; I find it's necessary for great character development!

First season was fantastic, IMO...And like a lot of great series, it suffers when the writing dips - which it has this season...Some good moments here & there, to be sure, but by & large they don't seem to have an idea of how or where to go with the characters

We're having Joe go back to not just gambling but pretending to be a bookie on top of things?...A bit too much drama perhaps?

Terry, any growth yet?...I don't know, it has stalled a bit for me and these last two episodes were very ho hum

    Hope it picks up

I feel like these last two episodes have shown the most growth in Terry throughout the entire series; we see that he is capable of loving a woman and wanting to settle down, and realizing that he is aging and needs to now be a more responsible adult.

The 'A League of Their Owen' episode was just outstanding. A lot of things are happening but one of the most notable is Joe becoming a bookie, that one is going to bring consequences.

Terrific episode! Reading the plot alone had me thinking that this could be a very stereotypical and corny episode, but I should've known better than to expect that from Men because it was brilliant in every sense. Another wonderful performance by Braugher!

I've enjoyed both seasons, the 6.3 score is harsh.

There are many entertaining series on TV. There is only one that actually makes good television: "Men..."

I am (pleasantly) surprised it is still running. It's too good, too intellectual, and too for "over 40" to be getting good ratings.

I never miss an episode, although I usually watch them "On-demand".

The new episode was sweet. Is Manfro teaching Joe a hard lesson in being a bookie, or is he just being a dick? I cant wait to find out. The show has wonderful flow and the stars have great chemistry. I pray for another season.

I don't think Manfro was intentionally teaching Joe a lesson, it appeared like pure anger and rage. Keep in mind while they're friends, Manfro is a "professional" bookie and not a pushover, and can easily separate business and personal affairs. Although at the end of the scene when he comes back into the store to tell Joe that his tooth can be saved did reveal Manfro's slight remorse for hurting someone who's been likely his only friend. Very interesting and complex relationship!

Great season finale but with Joe qualifying to the golf tournament, Owen getting his business back and Terry getting what he wanted sure look more like the show is ending. I hope not!
