I made the mistake of watching the first two episodes. Those were more than enough.

Finally I found the name of that song.
It's called 'Sacred' by Todd Thibaud.

    Sacred

we talk about social imperfections / we talk about wolves at every turn
we think about the comical direction / i might've taken if i'd never learned
there's no time for happy ever after / there's no time for walking in the surf
there are no words i could ever mumble / that could touch
the depths of what you're worth / and it's me who wants it all to be now / to be somehow perfect /
me that wants it all to be right / to be something sacred / you write down your intimate perceptions / you write down your disenchanted prose / breathe deep the air of your existence / anything to understand the life you chose

'cause it's me who wants it all to be now / to be somehow perfect / me that wants it all to be right / to be something sacred, to be something sacred /

and i don't understand the reason why; a cry for love gets no reply / the refuse swirling at my feet, the fascination with deceit / the politics of empty men, the confidence we all pretend / the multitudes at every gate, the unexpected hand of fate /

and it's me who wants it all to be now to be somehow perfect / me that wants it all to be right / to be something sacred

What is Carl's official title for the show? I think he introduced himself as Doctor, but what sort of level is he on with Jack? Do all the other doctors work for Jack, and Jack works for that main admin lady? Or is Carl higher up than Jack?

I don't know amaryllis, but in the pilot he says he specializes in addictions and pharmacology, so I think he's below Jack. Jack is like every doctors' supervisor since he's around seeing how they work. And I think Nora is higher than Jack, since she makes all the decisions. Jack goes to her with an idea and he gets Nora's approval or gets rejected.

Yes, I believe that Jack is technically 'the boss', but he answers to Nora. And Carl brings in the almighty bucks and has 'been there', so that is why there is such a nemesis situation developing between he and Jack. Personally, I kinda hate that Carl guy.

Yep, Nora is the top dog. She's the hospital administrator. Jack is director of psychiatric services. All the other doctors are below him.

And Carl is extremely slimy, I don't like him one bit. But I suppose that's the point of his character and the actor is doing a very good job.

Thanks buffyangel4evr_, OnePerCentClub, & luvinx for answering my questions!! I figured Nora was the hospital administrator (sort of like Lisa Cuddy on House), and Jack was the director person, and then I figured the other doctors were answering to him, but wasn't sure of what exactly Carl's job title was. Dr. Slimey @ss is more like it.

buffyangel4evr_ you're right, he's doing a great job of making us hate him, with his actions, the way he carries himself & his dialogue with Jack. And I'm pretty sure Jack can read him like a book!

    You're welcome amaryllis!

And speaking of Carl, I hated him so much when he was asking Arturo to put on his suit and then, when he said 'That door leads to the hallway'.

    Grrrr!!!!!

Oh but Jack, does a great job making him pay. With frustration.

I love how Jack makes like he's oblivious to the "politics" of modern hospital administration, but we all know he knows exactly how the game is played. He's totally playing Carl and throwing up roadblocks at every opportunity.

His ideas are very innovative. I loved it how he had the patients paint the wall and how he confronts Chloe about psychiatry. He was right both times. And that's why Carl hates him. Even Veronica has fun working with him.

Something else. When I read that Nora was his ex-lover, I thought we were going to have some flirty scenes between them or maybe go back together. But none of that. They get along more like friends. Nora taking his advice and he always making her lose her mind with his craziness.

I think she still has a little thing for Jack. She was all giggly and googly over him last week with her daughter. And then out of the blue she tells Veronica about their fing. It looks like she's keeping a tight cap on her feelings for professional reasons.

Yeah, I think she does, but I see Jack focused on his career now and finding Becky than in his love life.
Who knows, maybe the ex-fiance or ex-girlfriend comes back soon. I have a feeling

Have they shown Jack's sister yet? not just her back at the phone, but has he actually found her and had a face to face - I missed the ep after he tracked down the church she called from.

No, Becky hasn't been shown. Actually, Becky hasn't called Jack in the last 2 episodes. I think it's good that they don't have her call him in every episode. I'm not sure if she will make an appearance soon.
