Wow, I must say Bradley's acting has really become amazing in S4... The scene in Uther's chambers just after the fight was breathtaking. And I absolutely loved Dragoon. The mix of comedy and tragedy in this episode was very good. I thought it would be very difficult to achieve, but they did it very well.

And yay! Merlin is a loyal friend!

    More thoughts from me later

I'm sorry to see ASH go but loved the coronation - have been waiting for this for so long and totally did not expect it. I really though Uther would come alive somehow. But long live King Arthur

Absolutely agree that Old Merlin and Arthur were hilarious especially the piggy back ride - giddy up. And yes Bradley was brilliant.

I loved the whole hut scene, I thought Colin as Dragoon does a brilliant job. I'm sort of really relieved, because after the debacle of 3x03, I was a bit worried about the third episode of series 4 as it came after a strong opening 2-parter. I shouldn't have worry (although one has to wonder how many more amazing storylines they're going to come up with this season )

i don't like the crown, but I'll live with it... Is it me or it looked like a gold/copper alloy rather than pure gold?

i really liked thsi episod. it was very funny, old merlina dn arthur were great. i also loved that morgana finally gets to win fro once. i did find it odd that neither merlin or giaus told arthur about the enchanmnet that morgana did to revese the helomg spell. surly he would get that she wanted uther died, and realise that old merlin didn't do anything wrong.

Lol yep one small mercy! I thought Colin was great as Dragoon especially when he realises that spell doesn't work.

And he was adorable waiting all night outside the throne room door. Hope that Arthur treated him to a good breakfast I wasn't expecting a light scene when Arthur came out and found him there though.

It was a really nice scene actually. As Arthur pointed out, it was a new day. It felt like a page was being turned (by Arthur) and that he was taking Merlin in his stride. Quite a nice hopeful finish after the "he'll hate magic forever" moment of minutes before...
I felt sorry for Merlin about all the "what would you do if your father was dying" stuff from Arthur.

I wish they didn't constantly think or/blame Morgana when something to do with magic happens. I know it was her doing this time, but she's not the only one who hates Uther that was made abundantly clear for 3 series, and yet now all of a sudden its Morgana who is doing it all. Although I do like the fact that in a sense she won this week. She got constantly out smarted or undone by everyone last series, so its nice for her to have a little win and it makes it more realisitc. The good guys don't always everytime come out in top in life, so its nice when its reflected in tv too. The good guy can win in the end as they invariably do in fantasy tv, but having a bad guy get in some wins too adds more interesting twists and turns to things.

Yes, it was nice indeed. It just wasn't what I was expecting. Maybe Uther was right and Arthur has been ready to be king for a while already.

The peeing scene!! LOL I couldn't stop laughing at all scenes that had Dragoon and Arthur in it... except the one with Uther but that's understandable I love how Uther defended his son. I keep seeing the blooper bits when those actual scenes come, for example Merlin coming into the room... he has heard of a sorcerer living in the woods of something or the scene with Agravaine and sir Leon... he's jumping up and down, it's no help Very strong episode imo, but I couldn't understand why Gaius wouldn't show the necklace to Arthur

I thought it was nice of the people of Camelot to hold a vigil... After all, Uther was quite a stern king but it seems that his people still had some respect/affection for him. I bet Arthur's going to be much more popular though... I didn't like the fact that Sir Leon seems to be Agravaine's second in command now... It makes me shiver. Brrrrr...

I felt very sorry for Gwen when she was tending for Arthur... He was talking about how he's not ready for his father to die, and, in a way, I thought that was rather tactless... I sort of wish that Gwen had found it in her to care for Uther out of pity or whatever for the man rather than just "for Arthur". It doesn't sit right with me.

I guess that many actually came to believe that magic is evil. Uther was tyrannical and a big hypocrite but despite his many mistakes, the kingdom was prosper under his reign. I guess that counted for something in his people's hearts but I have no doubt that they all are gonna like Arthur way better as a ruler.

AC you're totally right about that scene with Arthur and Gwen. I wish she told him 'and what about me? Was I ready for my father to die' something along those lines. I guess didn't want to upset Arthur more than he already is.
