I'll take your crown to Gaius, Sire Merlin offered. I'll do it replied Uther. I want to see how the chemical works with my own eyes. Merlin followed Uther praying for him not to realize about little Arthur's presence in Gaius' chambers.

"Gaius, here's my crown", said Uther, but then he noticed the baby in Gaius's hands. "Gaius, con-gra-tu-la-tions! I see you're still holding up very well!"

    "Oh, sire, it isn't mine."

"Well, no one ever admits that, you old devil!", laughed Uther. "Now, let me see that chemical."

"But, but... Sire" Gaius blushed crimson red and gave up. It was better for Uther to think that he was a vigorous man than for him to recognize Arthur's features in the baby."The chemical?" Merlin picked the baby and give him a look. "The polishing one" He said winking an eye and disappearing into his room.

Gaius began mixing various chemicals, potions, herbs and stones, and time was passing so slowly, that it was inevitable for Uther to intervene: "Oh, come on, get on with it!" Gaius replied: "This is science, sire. It cannot be hastened." Uther said: "But it was much quicker when Merlin did it!" Gaius lifted his eyebrow in dissatisfaction: "Yes, and it was him who wasted all my chemicals in his earnest to please you!"

"Maybe you should look for a better apprentice then. Pity my boy has grown fond of him." "I really hope you don't remember any of this" Merlin muttered as he rocked Arthur to sleep, gently wrapped in one of the wizard's shirts.

"I got rid of Uther", said Gaius. "He couldn't wait. Now to the baby..." But the baby Arthur suddenly whimpered: "Booooo! Booommm - mmoooo! Boom - moo!!!"

"Boom-moo? What could that possibly mean, Merlin?"

"He probably wants to say, finish it off!"

"UVER" Arthur screamed holding his chubby arms out to Uther

Uther looked slightly replused but Arthur kept screaming.

When he finally got in Uthers arms he fell soundly asleep.

Omg, lmfao! Thanks for the laugh.

Ash, your post is not matching the previous one. I'll write a link between both

    ______________

"I'm done, time to go to Uther." Gaius headed for the council room with Merlin in tow, where Arthur started crying to the top of his lungs. Morgana tried to soothe him without success; the baby seemed attracted by Uther. After some convincing, he agreed to hold him and it worked wonders. "Now let's get on with it, Gaius."

De nada Now, brace yourself, we're making it to the final round! It is Friday in the matter of hours, after all...

    ____________________________________________

"Merlin, put that crown on the poor baby's head!", said Gaius. "Got it!"

    "Good, what's happening?"

"Nothing. Nothing." And then: "Oh, wait, something is going on..." And then...

The baby suddenly stretched in Uther's arms. Merlin quickly picked him up and rushed out of the council room. "Excuse me Sire but this baby has an immediate need to attend". He stumbled into Arthur's chambers as the prince slowly returned to his normal age and shape, falling side by side on the bed. "Merlin! What is going on?"

"Finally...", muttered Merlin. "What - finally!", shouted Arthur. "Don't ask - don't tell. You've got no idea what I've been through."

"Merlin, you are such a blockhead sometimes!"

"Now, that whining I can stand", said Merlin with a smile.

"Gwen, have you seen Merlin?" asked Gaius. "No, is anything wrong?". "Well, I'm afraid we still have another little matter to deal with..." he said pointing to Lancelot, who was swinging around a sword in the castle square.

"Pick him and bring him to me", said Gaius. "Oh, I love you, I love you, I love you", whispered Gwen.

"What are talking there?", asked Gaius. "Oh, it's nothing."

"Then stop with that gibberish and bring him here!"

Lancelot was reluctant to join Gwen inside the castle, charging against thin air with his sword was much more fun. "If you come with me, I promise I'll make you a real knight's suit." "Really?" said Lancelot happily trotting after her.

"All hail King Lancelot!", shouted Gwen putting the crown on the child's head, and 'puff!' at instant there he was, the grown man!

"Guinevere, my lady, what happened!", asked he.

"I'm glad you're back", she replied. "All is well now."

"All I remember is I asked Gaius to make me some remedy for my sore throat but he seems to have forgotten about it." Merlin stifled a laughter. "I'll go get you some honey, it's a well know natural remedy with no side-effects". Arthur drew a quizzical brow."What do you mean? You and your riddles, Merlin."

Merlin shrugged his shoulders. "What can I say? Life's a riddle?'

"Oh, you're so smaart, Merlin. But don't think I won't find out whatever you're hiding!"

    "I hope not", thought Merlin.

Sounds like a curtain call, right?

I pm-ed illegalferret so she remembers to open a new discussion thread tomorrow, and she replied back that she will do sometime in the afternoon.

Should we start the new story here or should I open a new thread?

I don't know - remaining in this thread is more "economical" so to say, while opening a new one will make it all easier and clearer. If it's allowed to open a new thread without deleting this one, why not? Or even with deleting we could somehow preserve this funny story. And it was real fun
