Out of respect for Spoiler free people and in an effort to support their decision and make their navigation around the forum safe, this is the one and only thread where spoilers are allowed to be posted and commented on.
Just in case, once an episode has aired in the UK it is no longer considered a spoiler. It is generally a good idea to avoid the forums until it airs in your country if you are spoiler free.
I have reserved the next two posts to keep track of all the spoilers that are posted. I will arrange them by episode so it's easier for everyone to find all the information available without having to skim through all the posts. Bring them on!

-There won't probably be as many comic episodes as in previous seasons.
-There's camaraderie, friendship and respect between the Great Dragon and Merlin, they help each other out.
-Changing the format so Arthur knows about Merlin's magic would completely change the dynamic of the show and it doesn't sound like a good idea to the producers since to them it was never about Arthur finding out.
Colin interview here.
-There's huge changes for Merlin in Series 4. It is clear that Camelot is heading in a new direction and the characters' arcs are starting to take their place.
-Colin doesn't think the reveal will happen quickly or will be resolved quickly.
-He also confirms that the show will air in the Autumn, either in September or October 2011.
Kapow Comic Con, London April 9th, 2011
-Series 4 starts a year after the end of series 3 and it's going to be darker. Merlin is going to be challenged and we may have a glimpse of his darker side.
-Morgause will be back (she was originally stated to die though), but Johnny Capps wouldn't say whether they're going to delve into her birth/childhood.

-Morgana is harder, stronger, powerful and committed and she's accepted who she is. She has entirely changed in the year away, been out of Camelot and probably been hunted having to hide who she is.
-A year has also passed with everyone knowing that she is magical, so that's also going to have changed how everybody else views her and how she views herself.
Angel Coulby interview here.
-Gwen has been looking after the king in the year that Morgana's been away.
-Gwen's relationship with Arthur becomes more open.

-The humor will be riches and more sophisticated.
-There's a big female lead in one episode and a couple of others further down the line.

Interview with Julian Murphy (part 2) here.
-Uther still has a role although there's a very distinctive change in him.
-They aren't likely to lose anyone in the cast that's key to the developing story they have mapped out. Stories can be modified and accommodated when certain actors aren't available at the right time
Also, some non spoilery info:
-There'll be a Merlin panel at Comic Con.
-There's a possibility to work on an animated spin-off series once the series [Merlin, the show] has come to an end.
-Series 4 is gonna be filmed on 35mm film (instead of super 16) which will bring about better CGI effects.
-Alice Troughton will direct episodes 4x12 and 4x13 Source.
Interview with Nathaniel Parker here and here.
-Agravaine is a dark and brooding presence at court.
-Arthur doesn't suspect he is a baddie, only Gaius at the beginning and then Merlin too.
-He'll be a recurrent character for the entire series 4 (featuring in every episode) and maybe in an eventual series 5.
-He tries to give him the best advice he possibly can. He would run Camelot in a very different way if he had a chance (in an old guard fashion vs Arthur's new guard one) using more strength. He's a force to be reckoned with.
-Further confirmation that series 4 will air in the fall and run for 13 episodes.
-Episode 4x06 to be directed by Alex Pillai (the one to the right in the white Hornet shirt) Source.
-Unknown episode clapperboard mentioning the director to be Alex Pillai and director of photography Ashley Rowe here.

-Uther won't be recovered from the events in series 3, they left a deep imprint on him, he has some kind of a shell.

-Regarding the Uther/Arthur relationship, there's ain interesting shift in balance and in power.
-Morgana has a lot of scenes with Nathaniel's character.
-Morgana has no scenes with Phil's character but she kind of implies that she does with Gemma Jones' character.
-There's a complete departure from Morgana's old self, even her look reflects that she has embraced her dark magical side (she doesn't need to wear pretty dresses and to pretend anymore).
-Even though Morgana is not living in Camelot any longer, the writers find ways around for her to still interact with everyone in Camelot.
-Series 4 is the most grown up so far and everyone's path is starting to become clear as we know it from the legends.
Nathaniel Parker was a guest on Loose Women where he talked briefly about his role in Merlin here.
-Anthony Head's interview here.
-Series 4 is darker; it investigates some very interesting facets of the world that we inhabit. It's not so dark that it will turn kids off though.
Katie interview here.
-The new evil Morgana look is close to a Goth one.
SFX magazine (August 2011 issue) scans here.
-The Knights of the Round Table will be a permanent theme.
-Prince Arthur will reign as regent instead of Uther.
-Uther's legacy is important and there interesting stories around him.
-More CGI armies.
-Opening two parter is about Morgana trying to get her revenge on Camelot. She does quite an extreme thing and the question is if Arthur and Merlin will be able to defeat her.
-Since the knights are a constant presence, there'll be a lot more action/adventure quest stories.
-Stories will revolve around Morgana, Gwen, Arthur, Merlin and the Knights. Episodes are more serialised, more focus on main cast despite guest stars of the week will still be coming.
-Some aspects of the legend still to come.
-They are gonna do Arthur/Gwen/Lancelot in their own way.
-Morgause's face is scarred on the left side. She won't just sit and lick her wounds.
-Storylines are more adult and dark but it's still a family show.
-Instead of having comedy episodes, it's very much about having lightness and darkness within episodes.
-Tag line for series 4 has changed from "The Search For Emrys" to "The Darkest Hour is Just Before The Dawn". They are nearing the dawn of Camelot's golden age. -Merlin's duplicity between his young and his old version (Dragoon the Great as seen in 3x10 "Queen of Hearts" becomes part of series 4.
-Merlin's identity and whether his magic will be found out is a huge part of the next series. There are other people who want to know who he is, we get to learn about the legend of Emrys, and there bigger and more important reasons why he can't reveal his identity yet and why he needs to keep his magic secret.
TV Choice article here.
-"He [Lancelot] shared tantalizing kisses with Gwen in previous appearances but her destiny lies with Arthur and all we can say is Lancelot's courage knows no bounds in the new series."
-Gwen won't cheat on Arthur but they will get through some obstacles in their way.
-There will be several Gwen centric episodes in season 4, she'll get more screentime.
Interview by Unification France here:
-Season 4 will be much more mature and dark.
-Their take on their Arthurian legend is a particular one so maybe they don't part with Uther to haveArthur become King. It is entirely possible that Uther does not die during the series.
-Another example of how they play with the legend is when Lancelot is not the real Lancelot.
-The lifespan of the series depends on the decisions of the BBC.
-They'll do something unexpected about the reveal, if it is written at all.
-It is possible that Merlin reappears as an old man.
Serieviewer.com interview with Katie McGrath and Julian Jones at Comic Con' Paris 2011 here:
-The beginning of season 4 is the darkest so far. Instead of relaxing and allowing the public to breathe from the end of series 3, things are pushed forward.
-With the knights of the round table the cast is larger. The path towards Arthur becoming king, Gwen becoming Queen and Merlin becoming a great wizard begins to show. There's evidence of how it will end.
-Romantic relationships will advance. As for Arthur and Gwen, when things are progressing something shows up on the road.
-Gwen has a good season with very good episodes. -Merlin manages to find peace in his relationship with magic, but he has this desire to tell more people, this is very important in season 4, and we'll see how it affects his relationships with others. He grows up, the character develops. He realizes that the future of Camelot rests on him.
-Morgause will be back.
-Comic Con France interview with Katie and Julian Jones here.
Comic Con France interview with Colin here
-I don't think we will be on the air for "too" long. The producers have always had in mind a plan of 5 seasons. We are now shooting the fourth. If the viewers are there again this year, we can then conclude the story with the fifth season. For the writers, knowing the "end date" was beneficial because it allowed them to better plan the plot.
-Like every year, we have to finish 13 episodes.
-While the comedy is running in full in the series, there are more adult themes, darker as we approach season 4. And the dramatic structure that we develop this year also somewhat resembles the dynamics of the American series, with a thread more consistent from one episode to another.
San Diego Comic Con panel:
-Merlin has been recommissioned for series 5.
-Having two series ahead gives TPTB "creative space" to focus on the characters and "slow-burning" story arcs.
-Morgana will return, and her magic is just as strong as Merlin's.
-Merlin's story arc will see him finding his true place in the court of Camelot.
-The knights will be a strong unit in series four. Arthur and Lancelot get their swords out a lot.
-There'll be a bit of flirtation between Lancelot and Gwen.
-TPTB promise "an unexpected twist" to the Arthur / Gwen / Lancelot love triangle. Short video about the A/G/L here.
-Uther has had to face up too his past actions, and the repercussions will continue in series four.
-Uther will never give up his crown to Arthur, but admits that a "battle for power" will occur between the father and son.
-Lancelot gets to meet the dragon.
-Morgana gets to blast a guy against a wall.
-The fourth series will be "more filmic" and will feature more "epic, vast, magical landscapes" with more green-screen shooting.
-Merlin has a lot in his plate at the moment for romance.
-Morgana is confident and self assured this season.
-About the reveal: "To reveal it to someone [Arthur] who, at this stage, cannot possibly comprehend who he is and what he stands for, would ruin everything".
-Merlin will have a new reason to keep his magic secret in series four.
-The dragon is back.
-We see Old Merlin as he is in the future, not Merlin using him as a disguise but we see him as he will actually be in 60 years.
Nathaniel Parker interview here:
-Agravaine is Arthur's uncle, a dark and mysterious baddie which is in the background quite a lot. It becomes pretty clear within 20 minutes of the first episode he's in.
-As Ygraine's brother, he feels like he has a claim to the throne. As Arthur's uncle he has to be respected by the Knights and everyone else. This gives him a position of power within Camelot itself which is quite an advantage for him.
-Agravaine arrives to the court as Arthur grows older and things happen for him and Agravaine becomes Arthur's problem as he is slightly controlling and plots to get the throne for himself.
-Agravaine will appear in all 13 episodes and open for talks to return.
-Agravaine won't necessarily be mean to Gwen.
SFX tidbits of Katie's interview to come here:
-Emrys is a very large presence to Morgana. She doesn't know who he is but she is fearful of him and a driving force for her throughout series four. Her need to discover who he is and ultimately vanquish him is a big part of what she does going forward.
