Out of respect for Spoiler free people and in an effort to support their decision and make their navigation around the forum safe, this is the one and only thread where spoilers are allowed to be posted and commented on.

Just in case, once an episode has aired in the UK it is no longer considered a spoiler. It is generally a good idea to avoid the forums until it airs in your country if you are spoiler free.

I have reserved the next two posts to keep track of all the spoilers that are posted. I will arrange them by episode so it's easier for everyone to find all the information available without having to skim through all the posts. Bring them on!

    Series 4 Spoilers

    General Spoilers:

-Season 5 confirmed. Even before season 4 airs I can say that there will be a season 5. Probably the last but who can tell. Source and Source.

-It's confirmed that series 4 is gonna have 13 episodes.
-It starts with a two-parter written by Julian Jones and directed by Alice Troughton.
-Episode 3 is written by Howard Overman.
-The knights remain around even though some people are surprised with Arthur's choice of knights which brings about some tension.
-Uther is broken so Arthur takes a bit more of control.
    Source

SFX article about Merlin s4 here.
-Quite dramatic things await Gwen and Morgana.
-There won't probably be as many comic episodes as in previous seasons.
-There's camaraderie, friendship and respect between the Great Dragon and Merlin, they help each other out.
-Changing the format so Arthur knows about Merlin's magic would completely change the dynamic of the show and it doesn't sound like a good idea to the producers since to them it was never about Arthur finding out.

    Colin interview here.
-There's huge changes for Merlin in Series 4. It is clear that Camelot is heading in a new direction and the characters' arcs are starting to take their place.
-Colin doesn't think the reveal will happen quickly or will be resolved quickly.
-He also confirms that the show will air in the Autumn, either in September or October 2011.

Kapow Comic Con, London April 9th, 2011
-Series 4 starts a year after the end of series 3 and it's going to be darker. Merlin is going to be challenged and we may have a glimpse of his darker side.
-Morgause will be back (she was originally stated to die though), but Johnny Capps wouldn't say whether they're going to delve into her birth/childhood.
-The new cast arrival [Nathaniel Parker as Agravaine] is a relative of Ygraine.
    -Morgana gets another costume change.
-Bradley told an anecdote about Tom Hopper putting a flambeau down alight. He's now forbidden to hold anything once the scene is cut.
    Source.

    Katie interview here.
-Morgana is harder, stronger, powerful and committed and she's accepted who she is. She has entirely changed in the year away, been out of Camelot and probably been hunted having to hide who she is.
-A year has also passed with everyone knowing that she is magical, so that's also going to have changed how everybody else views her and how she views herself.

    Angel Coulby interview here.
-Gwen has been looking after the king in the year that Morgana's been away.
-Gwen's relationship with Arthur becomes more open.

Interview with Julian Murphy (part 1) here.
-There's a huge move forward in the series. There's probably more legend than before and more new characters. The KORT, Morgause, Lancelot and the Great Dragon are back.
-The humor will be riches and more sophisticated.
-There's a big female lead in one episode and a couple of others further down the line.
-There'll be more Gwen on the journey to becoming Queen Guinevere and build up in her relationship with Elyan.

Interview with Julian Murphy (part 2) here.
-Uther still has a role although there's a very distinctive change in him.
-They aren't likely to lose anyone in the cast that's key to the developing story they have mapped out. Stories can be modified and accommodated when certain actors aren't available at the right time
    Also, some non spoilery info:
-There'll be a Merlin panel at Comic Con.
-There's a possibility to work on an animated spin-off series once the series [Merlin, the show] has come to an end.
-Series 4 is gonna be filmed on 35mm film (instead of super 16) which will bring about better CGI effects.

-Alice Troughton will direct episodes 4x12 and 4x13 Source.

Interview with Nathaniel Parker here and here.
-Agravaine is a dark and brooding presence at court.
-Arthur doesn't suspect he is a baddie, only Gaius at the beginning and then Merlin too.
-He'll be a recurrent character for the entire series 4 (featuring in every episode) and maybe in an eventual series 5.
-He tries to give him the best advice he possibly can. He would run Camelot in a very different way if he had a chance (in an old guard fashion vs Arthur's new guard one) using more strength. He's a force to be reckoned with.
-Further confirmation that series 4 will air in the fall and run for 13 episodes.

-Episode 4x06 to be directed by Alex Pillai (the one to the right in the white Hornet shirt) Source.

-Unknown episode clapperboard mentioning the director to be Alex Pillai and director of photography Ashley Rowe here.

Interviews with Anthony and Katie here.
-Uther won't be recovered from the events in series 3, they left a deep imprint on him, he has some kind of a shell.
-Gwen is taking care of Uther and doing the best she can out of love for Arthur (but not for Uther).
-Regarding the Uther/Arthur relationship, there's ain interesting shift in balance and in power.
-Morgana has a lot of scenes with Nathaniel's character.
-Morgana has no scenes with Phil's character but she kind of implies that she does with Gemma Jones' character.
-There's a complete departure from Morgana's old self, even her look reflects that she has embraced her dark magical side (she doesn't need to wear pretty dresses and to pretend anymore).
-Even though Morgana is not living in Camelot any longer, the writers find ways around for her to still interact with everyone in Camelot.
-Series 4 is the most grown up so far and everyone's path is starting to become clear as we know it from the legends.

Nathaniel Parker was a guest on Loose Women where he talked briefly about his role in Merlin here.

    -Anthony Head's interview here.
-Series 4 is darker; it investigates some very interesting facets of the world that we inhabit. It's not so dark that it will turn kids off though.

    Katie interview here.
-The new evil Morgana look is close to a Goth one.

SFX magazine (August 2011 issue) scans here.
-The Knights of the Round Table will be a permanent theme.
-Prince Arthur will reign as regent instead of Uther.
-Uther's legacy is important and there interesting stories around him.
    -More CGI armies.
-Opening two parter is about Morgana trying to get her revenge on Camelot. She does quite an extreme thing and the question is if Arthur and Merlin will be able to defeat her.
-Since the knights are a constant presence, there'll be a lot more action/adventure quest stories.
-Stories will revolve around Morgana, Gwen, Arthur, Merlin and the Knights. Episodes are more serialised, more focus on main cast despite guest stars of the week will still be coming.
-Some aspects of the legend still to come.
-They are gonna do Arthur/Gwen/Lancelot in their own way.
-Morgause's face is scarred on the left side. She won't just sit and lick her wounds.
-Storylines are more adult and dark but it's still a family show.
-Instead of having comedy episodes, it's very much about having lightness and darkness within episodes.
-Tag line for series 4 has changed from "The Search For Emrys" to "The Darkest Hour is Just Before The Dawn". They are nearing the dawn of Camelot's golden age. -Merlin's duplicity between his young and his old version (Dragoon the Great as seen in 3x10 "Queen of Hearts" becomes part of series 4.
-Merlin's identity and whether his magic will be found out is a huge part of the next series. There are other people who want to know who he is, we get to learn about the legend of Emrys, and there bigger and more important reasons why he can't reveal his identity yet and why he needs to keep his magic secret.

    TV Choice article here.
-"He [Lancelot] shared tantalizing kisses with Gwen in previous appearances but her destiny lies with Arthur and all we can say is Lancelot's courage knows no bounds in the new series."

-Gwen won't cheat on Arthur but they will get through some obstacles in their way.
-There will be several Gwen centric episodes in season 4, she'll get more screentime.
    Source.

    Interview by Unification France here:
-Season 4 will be much more mature and dark.
-Their take on their Arthurian legend is a particular one so maybe they don't part with Uther to haveArthur become King. It is entirely possible that Uther does not die during the series.
-Another example of how they play with the legend is when Lancelot is not the real Lancelot.
-The lifespan of the series depends on the decisions of the BBC.
-They'll do something unexpected about the reveal, if it is written at all.
-It is possible that Merlin reappears as an old man.

Serieviewer.com interview with Katie McGrath and Julian Jones at Comic Con' Paris 2011 here:
-The beginning of season 4 is the darkest so far. Instead of relaxing and allowing the public to breathe from the end of series 3, things are pushed forward.
-With the knights of the round table the cast is larger. The path towards Arthur becoming king, Gwen becoming Queen and Merlin becoming a great wizard begins to show. There's evidence of how it will end.
-Romantic relationships will advance. As for Arthur and Gwen, when things are progressing something shows up on the road.
-Gwen has a good season with very good episodes. -Merlin manages to find peace in his relationship with magic, but he has this desire to tell more people, this is very important in season 4, and we'll see how it affects his relationships with others. He grows up, the character develops. He realizes that the future of Camelot rests on him.
    -Morgause will be back.

-Comic Con France interview with Katie and Julian Jones here.

Comic Con France interview with Colin here
-I don't think we will be on the air for "too" long. The producers have always had in mind a plan of 5 seasons. We are now shooting the fourth. If the viewers are there again this year, we can then conclude the story with the fifth season. For the writers, knowing the "end date" was beneficial because it allowed them to better plan the plot.
-Like every year, we have to finish 13 episodes.
-While the comedy is running in full in the series, there are more adult themes, darker as we approach season 4. And the dramatic structure that we develop this year also somewhat resembles the dynamics of the American series, with a thread more consistent from one episode to another.

    San Diego Comic Con panel:
-Merlin has been recommissioned for series 5.
-Having two series ahead gives TPTB "creative space" to focus on the characters and "slow-burning" story arcs.
-Morgana will return, and her magic is just as strong as Merlin's.
-Merlin's story arc will see him finding his true place in the court of Camelot.
-The knights will be a strong unit in series four. Arthur and Lancelot get their swords out a lot.
-There'll be a bit of flirtation between Lancelot and Gwen.
-TPTB promise "an unexpected twist" to the Arthur / Gwen / Lancelot love triangle. Short video about the A/G/L here.
-Uther has had to face up too his past actions, and the repercussions will continue in series four.
-Uther will never give up his crown to Arthur, but admits that a "battle for power" will occur between the father and son.
-Lancelot gets to meet the dragon.
-Morgana gets to blast a guy against a wall.
-The fourth series will be "more filmic" and will feature more "epic, vast, magical landscapes" with more green-screen shooting.
-Merlin has a lot in his plate at the moment for romance.
-Morgana is confident and self assured this season.
-About the reveal: "To reveal it to someone [Arthur] who, at this stage, cannot possibly comprehend who he is and what he stands for, would ruin everything".
-Merlin will have a new reason to keep his magic secret in series four.
    Source.

    -The dragon is back.
-We see Old Merlin as he is in the future, not Merlin using him as a disguise but we see him as he will actually be in 60 years.
    Source.

    Nathaniel Parker interview here:
-Agravaine is Arthur's uncle, a dark and mysterious baddie which is in the background quite a lot. It becomes pretty clear within 20 minutes of the first episode he's in.
-As Ygraine's brother, he feels like he has a claim to the throne. As Arthur's uncle he has to be respected by the Knights and everyone else. This gives him a position of power within Camelot itself which is quite an advantage for him.
-Agravaine arrives to the court as Arthur grows older and things happen for him and Agravaine becomes Arthur's problem as he is slightly controlling and plots to get the throne for himself.
-Agravaine will appear in all 13 episodes and open for talks to return.
-Agravaine won't necessarily be mean to Gwen.

SFX tidbits of Katie's interview to come here:
-Emrys is a very large presence to Morgana. She doesn't know who he is but she is fearful of him and a driving force for her throughout series four. Her need to discover who he is and ultimately vanquish him is a big part of what she does going forward.

    Empire Big Screen 4x01 preview:
-Morgana in a quarry using magic to subdue Arthur's knights Source. The clip belongs to 4x01 Source.
-Morgana is pulling an old wagon, whose contents are covered. Her face is covered by a hood. Knights of Camelot approach and inquire where she is headed. She says the Sea of Meredor. She turns and Leon says "The Lady Morgana!" to which she holds out her hand and Leon goes flying backwards. She continues to do this for the remaining knights. When she's confident they are incapacitated, she pulls down the covers of the wagon to reveal Morgause, and asks if Morgause is okay. Morgause says yes, but they have to hurry Source.

KSiteTV San Diego Comic Con interview with Colin here:
-Series 4 has a serial feel to it so episodes aren't as stand-alone. There's no going back. Each episode takes a progression as a piece of a jigsaw that has to be completed. There's no reverse going on.
    -Agravaine is the new baddie.
-Uther is on a mental state that prevents him from ruling so Merlin gets the biggest chance that he's ever going to get to set the future in the direction that he wants, the destiny that he is set to achieve. He wants to see magic return to the kingdom under the rule of the greatest King the land has ever seen so the tagline of "Keep the magic secret" might not last too long.
-Merlin is discovering more and more how lost he is and the he finds out, the more he loses. While everyone else is slotting into place, he finds himself wondering where he fits and he's never fitted in. When family ties and loyalty and royalty overrule friendship, that's a big blow to him. Throughout the series, Merlin's very much left in a limbo.
-Merlin is gonna struggle keeping his friendship with Arthur going on but he is met with a wall and he's not sure how to deal with that. Despite there's the usual Merlin and Arthur banter, it's just not always appropriate.
-The first two episodes are terrifying and play on that childhood fear of the dark. Some things that have been unleashed from a split in the veil between the real world and the underworld come out at night.
-The knights or the Round Table are back with a strong feel that they are a band coming together.
-Lancelot is back and there's a really good twist concerning the Arthur/Gwen/Lancelot love triangle, the most obvious Arthurian reference in the show so far.
-The big upset and the big fear that Merlin has is a reincarnation of Uther in Arthur: if there's any sign that Arthur is thinking like Uther's thinking, then he can never bring his magic to the fore. He can never get that kingdom he wants to have.
-There is a big focus on Uther because he's losing his mind. He's a ghost of himself but still firmly grasped on his mindset of rules that are still in there from years and years of hatred.
-There are gonna be more clashes between Merlin and Morgana than ever with epic battles.
-Morgana has a paranoia of Emrys. She doesn't know who this is. She keeps having visions of an old man called Emrys. She doesn't know it's Merlin in the future. We get glimpses of the future, the genuine future, of what's to come right from the beginning.
-The Great Dragon is back, in fact there's an episode that focuses solely on dragons and the future of the dragons.
-Merlin and Gwen remain very good friends. There's an episode where he really needs her help and they go off on a mission together.
-No wardrobe change for Merlin at all this season although we get to see him as a Knight of Camelot briefly.

KSiteTV San Diego Comic Con interview with Bradley here:
-Arthur has to take responsibility for the kingdom, because Uther is out of his mind. Camelotians seem ok with that.
-The knights of the round table remain around.
-After being through so much, Arthur and Merlin are best friends despite Arthur will never acknowledge that. Now Arthur's bad temper is spread out among his knights too.
-Arthur is walking towards the very noble, heroic king that is spoken of in the legends.
-Arthur's first duty is to Camelot, and Gwen is one of those things that he'd have to make sure would be good for the kingdom before he acts on it. Lancelot stands in their way as far as Gwen is concerned, so their love story will be a mess.
-Arthur will always be there for Merlin and Uther, despite he doesn't agree with all his decisions.
-Arthur doesn't see Lancelot as a threat and he is great for Arthur's protection and the kingdom. They've always respected each other hugely, and Arthur's got great respect for Lancelot and what he's capable of, and who he is as a person.
-Merlin will still counsel Arthur when he feels vulnerable about the decisions he's got to make, but he will start to be able to make these decisions on his own.
-The banter between Arthur and Merlin will still be present.

KSiteTV San Diego Comic Con interview with Katie here:
-Morgana will be perfectly evil, she is no longer in Camelot and reunited with Morgause. Now she can be herself and embrace her magical side. She is on a mission.
-She's no longer the first lady of Camelot and her looks will reflect that. She is dressed in black.
-Morgna is going to be as powerful as Merlin and will become more powerful than her sister.
-In Morgana's head everyone in Camelot has betrayed her except for Morgause, so she's with the people that she thinks loves her.
-Morgana has the most interaction with a few new characters. But despite being away from Camelot she will still interact with everyone there in a very weird and strange way.
-Morgana won't find out about Merlin's magic.
-Mordred is not back so far.
-Morgana sees Arthur as Uther's son and as the ruler that Uther would be. It's not clear to her that he is going to be accepting of magic so she can't trust him.

KSiteTV San Diego Comic Con interview with Anthony here:
-Uther will do a lot of staring out the window, with the occasional coming back to reality, and then off again. He is mad an unable to rule but he is aware that there are others taking care of things.
-Uther is closer and warmer towards Arthur. There's some really nice, emotional stuff between them.
-As per usual Uther and Merlin will have just a little interaction.
-Merlin will be sympathetic towards Uther but ultimately loyal to Arthur.

-Tidbits of a series 4 scene here.
-Apparently, Lamia leads Merlin, Sir Leon and Gwen? through a dark castle corridor into a trap where the skelettons of hundreds and hundreds of knights are scattered on the ground.

Basic information and plotlines gathered from the Reports, Pictures, Videos:

    April 13th:
-A boat was pulled into the moat.

    April 14th:
-All the knights were there in the stone courtyard. Lancelot, Percival, Elyan, Leon, Arthur and Merlin.
-Merlin was laying on the ground (in the stone courtyard), looking very pale, like he was sick or injured. Arthur, Lancelot and Leon are talking about what to do. They say something about needing to get Merlin to Gaius but that the citadel was a day away. Lancelot said something about a quest but Arthur seemed surprised that they were on a quest (however, they were smiling when they were rehearsing this scene so it could have been a joke among the actors). All through this scene, Merlin wasn't saying anything, just lying here. Lancelot took care of him for a moment and then Percival was with him. In the background, Gwaine and Elyan were getting horses ready.
-At some point Percival gets injured too.
-The knights and Merlin seemed to be fighting wyverns (Gwaine shouted that) in the Great Tower. Apparently, there was some sword-fighting as well.
-They also did a photoshoot of the knights (link below).
-Morgana was in the boat on the lake with a woman that was meant to be Morgause. Both were different new dark dresses.
-Seems like Raglan is gonna stand as the Isle of the Blessed again.
-Arthur is referred to as 'king'.

(Arthur defying Leon to save Merlin's life)
Arthur: We have to get him to Gaius.
Sir Leon: What, and abandon the quest?
Arthur: He saved my life. I can't watch him die.

    April 15th:
-They were in the Great Tower jabbing into the air as they were fighting wyverns and Gwaine yelled out (once the non-existent creatures had left) that that was how he did it (chasing them away). Then Arthur said to keep moving.
-Apparently, there was some sword-fighting too.

    April 18th:
-A set was made to look like a door built into the rock.
-There was discussion about some kind of statues.
-The crew referred to Nathaniel Parker (Agravaine) as the new villain.

    -Scene with Merlin and Lancelot:
Lancelot: You shouldn't be here, Merlin. You have no powers.
Merlin: (walking nearby, gathering firewood) It doesn't matter.
Lancelot: You're not a warrior, Merlin. I don't want to see you die.
    (Some dialogue missing here)
Lancelot: We leave in the morning.

-In another scene Merlin and Lancelot (this time in his Camelot cloak) ride through the woods. Merlin bends over in his saddle looking in pain, and Lancelot offers him something (it seemed to be a drink).
-In yet another scene, Merlin and Lancelot ride together. Merlin was using the last of his energy to tell Lancelot something, before he apparently collapses to the floor, unconscious.

Reports, Pictures and Videos from the filming of Block 2:

-Nathaniel Parker's website has uploaded a video of him filming block 2 at Pierrefonds in June 21st here (or Youtube link here). The site has also updated their gallery of Nathaniel filming Merlin here.

Basic information and plotlines gathered from the Reports, Pictures, Videos:

    June 21st:
A jousting tournament is taking place in Camelot. Agravaine and Gwen are attending from the royal box. Sir Percival? on top of his horse stands in front of the royal box and offers a garland of flowers to Gwen. The crowd claps. Gwen returns to her seat.

Reports, Pictures and Videos from the filming of Block 3:

-July 1st: episodes 1,4,5,6,7,8 and 9 are being filmed Source.
-July 4th: Tweet from Matt Doman (an extra on Merlin): "'Shooting Merlyn in a valley today. Sounds like some exciting scenes have been shot recently' Source.

-July 10th filming report here thanks to heythereholly.

-The actor who plays Billy Elliot's dad (would that be Gary Lewis?) was dressed as a wizard.
-Colin Morgan and Eoin Macken (dressed in armour) were around as well.

-July 12th report here and pics here, here, here and here thanks to laserscrewdriver.

    -There are new sets.
-A scene was being filmed in the Council room involving Arthur, Gaius, Sir Leon, and Uther's brother (Agravaine?).
-Katie (in a new costume) and Colin were filming a scene as well (not clear if together though).
-Anthony Head wasn't around as his scenes for that episode had been filmed already (still alive in block 3?).

-July 12th filming at Clearwell caves report here thanks to blondielox.

-Merlin and Gwaine were about to do some kind of fight scene involving swords. Whether they were fighting each other or some CGI monster is not known.

-August 10th filming at the Forest of Dean pictures here thanks to valderys.

Basic information and plotlines gathered from the Reports, Pictures, Videos (Part 1):

    April 26th:
-Most of the filming took place in the Great Hall.
-All the main/regular cast except one were around. So was Nathaniel Parker.
-Gwen was wearing a new purple and white dress.
-Uther has longer hair and was wearing a black shirt.
-A scene was filmed in the throne room with Arthur, Merlin and all the knights. There was some "Long live to the King" cheering. Anthony Head had left the chateau by then.

-Morgana will be back to Camelot in one of the first three episodes of series 4. She'll get into the castle using a small door on the right side of the castle, below the main wall Source.

    April 27th:
-Arthur, Merlin and the knights were filming in the castle.
    -So was Nathaniel Parker (Agravaine).

    April 28th:
-Arthur, Merlin and the knights were filming in the forest.
-Gaius and Gwen (with a new blue, white and brown dress) filmed a scene at the lower town.
-Tony and Katie filmd some scenes as well.

    April 29th:
-The pyre scene belongs to episode 4x02.
-There's a pyre in the courtyard.
-Sir Leon, Sir Percival, Sir Elyan and Sir Gwaine stand in a line in front of the pyre. At least a dozen other knights surround them, and some 20 Camelot guards form by the pyre as well.
-Gwen is watching the scene a bit further away.
-Merlin is standing by Arthur's side. He is holding the torch and passes it to Arthur.
-Arthur places a sword and a Camelot cloak on the pyre, then Merlin hands him over the torch and Arthur throws it to the pyre. He says "I'll (we'll?) never forget you, Gaius" (to which the crew laughs).
-Seems like the funeral pyre might be either for Gaius (following Arthur's line) or for Lancelot (since a sword and a Camelot cloak are laid on the pyre, and Lancelot is the only knight of the round table not present, not even a body double being used. Also, a sword and a cloak represent a knight better than a physician. Also the fact that the crew laughs is kind of a hint to it probably not being Gaius and Bradley making a joke during the take for reasons unknown. If it was actually Gaius which he needed to say, why would the crew laugh in the first place?).

-Gwen is crying in silence Source.

-Filming takes place at the courtyard. There's a pyre that isn't lit at first. Gwen is in the background, at the brink of tears. All the Camelot knights are there, including those of the round table except for Lancelot. Uther and Gaius are absent. Merlin is behind Arthur, who is the person the closest to the pyre. Which is weird is that there's a sword in the pyre instead of a body. Everyone looks very sad. Merlin hands a lit torch to Arthur, who throws it into the pyre and it starts burning. Source.

-Bradley, Colin, Angel, Rupert, Eoin and Elian were around too Source.

-Arthur and Gwen are holding their hands while she is crying. They talk about something and he makes a gesture like shaking his head and then he turns around and walks away from her. Gwen stands there crying.

-Santiago has finished his block 1 scenes at Pierrefonds Source.

    May 2nd:
-A company of entertainers (jugglers, fire breathers, acrobats, clowns, stilts...) arrives in Camelot to entertain some gathered nobles.
-Phil Davis can be spotted as a guest star. Judging from his clothes, he seems to be part of the group of entertainers.
-Filming was all indoors, in the downstairs hall where banquets are usually held.
-There's an interior scene with Uther , Arthur and Merlin at a banquet. Some kind of fire explosion can be seen inside the room so it's either magic being performed or the job of the entertainers.

    May 3rd:
    -Dragoon the Great is back!
-Gwen was tending and providing food in the courtyard to a lot of needy, hungry and tired commoners (refugees?) that arrive in Camelot. They are called "fugitives".
-Sir Leon and other knights see Morgana in the forest, who for some reason is presumed to be dead. She kills some of the knights and Sir Leon and Sir Elyan ride back to Camelot to inform Uther that Morgana is still alive.
-There's a scene in the hallway with Arthur and Old Merlin.

    May 4th:
-All the knights (except Lancelot) and Merlin were on their horses all day long. They ride off on an adventure with Merlin in belated pursuit.
-Sir Agravaine, dressed as a knight of Camelot, joined them at some point.
-For some scenes, Merlin's horse was carrying bags and blankets unlike the others.
-Another scene had Merlin, Arthur and the knights returning from somewhere, on their horses, being slightly dirty.
-Presumably, there's a night shot on the green in front of the castle. Rupert, Eoin (Leon and Gwaine) can be seen practicing sword fighting whereas Tom (Percival) is practising with some kind of a mace.
-There's a scene with Arthur, Gwen and Gwaine on the main stairs in the courtyard, where Arthur is determined to go on a rescue mission to save Merlin. Gwen's saying that the "patrol found no sign of Merlin in the woods", but it's too dangerous. Arthur replies that he just can't sit around and do nothing. Gwen says that she knows that and tells him he'd better come back. Gwen also tries to reason that he shouldn't go alone... that's when Gwaine, already sitting on his horse, said that Arthur won't be going alone. Apparently Arthur also said, that Merlin already saved his life. After that, Arthur gets on his horse, and both of them ride away like hell.
-New establishing shots of the Chateau were filmed to adjust to the change in film format this season.

Basic information and plotlines gathered from the Reports, Pictures, Videos (Part 2):

    May 5th:
-One big fight scene belonging to episode 4x06 was filmed outside the castle on the grass involving all the knights, plus Merlin and Arthur. Merlin is basically goading Arthur into fighting knight after knight, just to prove he can do it:

Merlin: You're not going to fight Percival?
Arthur: (Offended) Are you suggesting Percival ... (something).
    Merlin: No!
So, he challenges Percival. They're fighting with mazes and Arthur beats him quite easily. Leaving Percival on the ground, Arthur goes back to Merlin.
Arthur: Percival may be strong, but he isn't agile. I need the whole package.
    Merlin: The whole package?
(Arthur says something too quiet to hear)
Merlin: The knights are responding brilliantly to your training, you're a really good teacher.
    Arthur: Thank you, Merlin.
(Now Merlin is saying something I couldn't understand, but I assume it was something teasing or offensive because Arthur glares at him.)
Merlin: Gwaine is the whole package!
Arthur: Gwaine? Gwaine has the concentration span of a new born lamb!
He challenges Gwaine anyway. They are fighting with swords, but not before Gwaine pulls off his shirt for no good reason the other knights are making kind of "woohoo" sounds, while Arthur only gestures towards Merlin 'What the hell?' They fight and again, Arthur wins. But when he returned to Merlin this time, Merlin is laughing.
    Merlin: He let you win!
(I'm not sure if/what Arthur says to this).
Merlin: They're afraid to offend you. After all, you're the king!
Arthur seems a bit upset by this. Kinda similar to when Leon got easy on him while training for the tournament in 2x02. So now, he challenges Elyan, but with a different approach.
    Arthur: Elyan!
    Elyan: Yes, Sire?
Arthur: You will face me as I'm a dangerous mercenary, (....) back beating hard!
They fight with axes and shields, until the top of Arthur's axe just flies away. (The look on his face is priceless!).
Arthur: Merlin! You're supposed to check my weaponary!
In this moment Elyan whipps the rest of the axe out of Arthur's hand, while Merlin is not reacting at all. Elyan keeps on fighting, and Arthur is getting a bit nervous.
    Arthur: Elyan, I'm defenceless!
Elyan: You are a dangerous mercenary!
    Elyan and presses on.
Arthur: Merlin! Throw me another weapon!
Arthur is getting more and more nervous, hectic. No reaction from Merlin! Arthur tries to stall.
    Arthur: One moment!
    Elyan: Cause I will!
And hits again. Arthur is blocking all of Elyan's strikes with his shield.
Arthur: Seriously? Arthur asks, quite incredulously.
    Elyan: I'm deadly serious!
    Arthur: Merlin"
Elyan: He can't help you now!
    Arthur: Merlin!
This all happens while Elyan keeps on hitting hard at Arthur's shield, and still no reation from Merlin. But suddenly with a quick twist Arthur brings down Elyan. The other knights are clapping, and Arthur calls it a day. He goes back to Merlin.
Arthur: Elyan has concentration, strength, the whole package... still I win. What do you say about that? (in a prattish, slightly angry way). After that he disappears in the tent.

-There was also a set up shot for the travelling acrobats arriving in their very pretty wagon.
-Merlin runs through a group of Camelot guards and up the castle steps in a hurry.

    May 6th:
-Very dangerous and complicated scene with many extras, cast, horses and stunts to be filmed that doesn't allow for the distraction of fans watching Source and Source and Source.
-There was nothing to see today, the crew had to clear out absolutely everything because there is going to be a wedding in the castle tomorrow.
-There was a dangerous scene in the forest so it was cordoned off. There was a lot of stunt work involving horses and men doing some kind of fight scene.

    May 9th:
-Colin and James Callis filmed inside the castle.
-James Callis filmed a short scene outside on horseback and another short one under artificial rain at the castle wall.
-James Callis also filmed a scene Colin Morgan and two guards at the crypt. The technicians used protective masks while filming that scene (explosions?) Source.
-Arthur and the knights filmed some scenes on horseback that culminated in them filming on top of the hill overlooking the entrance to the castle.

    May 10th:
-Re-shoots, close-ups and extra takes from earlier scenes were filmed.
-Arthur, Merlin and the knights (including Sir Agravaine) ride through the lower town with lots of people waving flags and cheering at them.
-Apparently they filmed some more scenes in the lower town with Gwen.
-Arthur and Merlin arrive into the castle, get off their horses and Merlin kind of runs away because he wants to do some errands for Gaius, but Arthur instructs him to prepare hot water, fresh bandages and everything else Merlin can think of, so that everything is prepared for the night.
-Percival, Elyan, Gwaine and Leon take their horses through a crowd of town's people.
-James Callis filmed some scenes with Colin inside the castle.
-Colin appeared to have injured himself earlier in the day (he limped quite badly while filming with Bradley). He apparently strained/twisted (or otherwise injured) his ankle. He was clearly in pain, and at some point the medics had a look at him, but probably couldn't do anything, so they stopped filming.
-Last filming day for block 1 in France Source.

Episode 4x04 (to be filmed yet):
-Arthur looking determined walks down the castle steps towards the waiting army and walks between the guards.
-Gaius and Gwen observe the scene from the castle looking worried, so Gaius isn't the one being mourned in the pyre scene (it belongs to ep 4x02).
-Arthur on his horse followed by knights.
-Merlin rides looking worried, it is his task to save the kingdom. Arthur asks him why but as always there is a little joke about it.
    -Agravaine is with them.
-Mercenaries attack Arthur and his men, Gwaine is injured and Merlin saves Arthur's life with magic as he is about to be killed.

More scenes that belong to block 1 (episodes 4x01 to 4x04):
-Main Square: Sir Leon thunders into Camelot. He tells a guard to call the council to session.
-Main Square: Agravaine's POV of Gwen across the square, he is watching her for some reason.
-Mezzanine corridor: Arthur dismisses the guards outside Uther's chambers. Old Merlin hobbles out of the shadows.
-Mezzanine corridor: Old Merlin ducks into a stairwell and downs the potion.
-Tunnels: Old Merlin makes Arthur carry him. He kicks him like he were a horse.
-Tunnels: Morgana makes her way down the tunnels into Camelot.
-Street: Old Merlin emerges from the alley way. He joins Arthur, they must sneak into the castle.
-Street (Reverse on Percival) Percival finds frightened children and a lot of refugees arriving into Camelot, heads for the hovel, Dorocha closing in, Elyan saves the day.
-Morgana has a scene in the lower town.
-The town people are holding a candle vigil for their king.

    Scene from episode 4x06:
-Arthur and Gwaine are searching for Merlin, sharing some teasing lines. Something moves in the grass ahead and Merlin staggers out of some trees. Arthur gets down from his horse and embraces Merlin, saying that when the rock fall happened they thought they had lost him.

-Anthony is done filming series 4 Source.

Basic information and plotlines gathered from the Reports, Pictures, Videos (Part 2):

    June 20th:
-There was no filming on Monday 20th Source.

    June 21st:
-They filmed a jousting tourney Source.
-Agravaine and Gwen are attending from the royal box. Sir Percival? on top of his horse stands in front of the royal box and offers a garland of flowers to Gwen. The crowd claps. Gwen returns to her seat.
-It looked like Arthur and Lancelot were going to be jousting while Gwen (and Agravaine) watched from the royal box. The barriers in the lists had little heart designs involved.
-They were just filming just one scene: from blocking, to close-ups, to wider shots with extras, with several different perspectives. It was too far away to hear any dialogue but by the visuals (and some deal of guessing) it goes like this: Arthur and Lancelot stand at a distance from each other, and then walk in to meet. Lancelot takes off his gloves and kneels to Arthur. Arthur beckons to him to stand, and they turn to the pavillion where Gwen is seated. She starts to clap.
-Arthur, Gwen, Lancelot, Leon, Percival and Elyan were around Source and Source. No Gwaine on set though Source. Merlin was either filming indoors or out in the forest Source.
-The castle was not open to the public but they filmed a jousting tourney. Awful weather Source.
-Two thrones were set up in the throne room.

Merlin production Warning: "For your safety you must keep out of unit base. Please stay on the hill for best view. Thank you." (When I say unit base I mean the area where all our trailers and catering are. Please stay away from that area. I know it's exciting to see your favourite actors at unit base but it's their rest area please respect their privacy.) Source.

    June 22nd:
-Most of the filming was done inside the castle but some shots were done outside too.
-Extras as knights were riding horses.
-Doubles for Gaius and Merlin were around too.
-The doubles for Agravaine an Gwaine ride into Camelot, the later bringing an unconscious Gaius on his horse. (Apparently, it's the consequence of an attack from a dragon (a wyvern?) Source).
-Wedding, wedding night bed and wedding banquet hall but no clue on who is getting married.
-The banquet was related to the wedding.
-There was a bed in the throne room decorated with flowers.
-All the knights of the Round table, Arthur, Gwen and Merlin attend the banquet.
    (Unsourced)
-There was a red carpet in the throne room leading to the two thrones, decorated on both sides with floral arrangements, held high on pedestals, forming a path of flowers. There were flower petals on the ground as well.

    June 23rd:
    -There was a jousting tournament.
-There was a scene where Arthur and Gwen walk down the castle steps and take a stroll across the courtyard with their arms laced. When this scene was being rehearsed, one member of the crew gave the following instruction to the extras: "You are smiling, you are happy, your king has chosen a queen, you are happy."
-Gwen can be seen wearing pants, boots and a blanket over her shoulders.
-No sign of Colin other than a few glimpses at the jousting site.

    June 24th:
-Santiago (in a black outfit) and Nathaniel filmed a scene inside the castle.
-Katie filmed a scene in the lower town.
-Bradley together with Eoin, Colin, Tom, Adetomiwa and Rupert were shooting a scene in the forest.
-Colin filmed scenes in the lower town with Angel where an upset Merlin throws a plate to the ground while Gwen tries to calm him down.

    June 27th:
    -Morgana filmed in the vaults.
-Another banquet scene was filmed with all the cast attending.
-Lancelot was wearing his black outfit. It was Santiago's last filming day for the block. Also Angel's Source.
-There was also filming outside mostly jousting but Rupert. Santiago, Adetomiwa and Tom Hopper were all there watching.
-There were also glimpses of actors coming in and out of the castle including all the knights, Angel, Katie, Colin, Bradley and Agravaine.

    Speculation
-A crew member hinted that Gwen might know about Merlin's secret during series 4.
-Colin confirmed that the relationship between Merlin and Gwen will be greatly developed during series 4.

    June 28th:
-They filmed in a warm lake Source. It was the crew and not the cast in the water though Source.
-Little to nothing was filmed at the castle today but for some scenes filmed not far from Pierrefonds by a lake side. Source.

As of July 1st, episodes 1,4,5,6,7,8 and 9 are being filmed Source.

Basic information and plotlines gathered from the Reports, Pictures, Videos:

    September 6th:
-Most of the filming was done out of sight.
-Colin, Bradley, Angel, Rupert, Tom Hopper, Ben Daniels and Nathaniel Parker were all there, as were Alice Troughton, Dale McCready, Julian Murphy, Medium-sized Jay, Stumpy, Alice (2AC), Marie, and other crew members.
-Jeremy Webb is directing eps 10 and 11.
-Colin Morgan, Bradley James, Angel Coulby and Miranda Raison filmed a scene on the castle grounds/forest.
-The knights also filmed a scene in the forest.
-Baddies dressed in black outfit filmed a scene in the castle grounds. Percival fights three of them.
-Nathaniel Parker was also on set.
-There was a scene being filmed inside the castle with Sir Leon and Agravaine.

    September 7th:
-Most of the filming involving the main cast was taking place inside. A long day was had in the throne room, Bradley and Angel were in there all day. It also involved many knights of Camelot and courtiers. Apparently they were filming a coronation. Gwen was wearing the same dress as in 3x10, Merlin got new clothes (very distinguished, "servant to the king"-like!) and "Long live the King! Long live the Queen!" shouts could be heard from the courtyard.
-Richard Wilson was on set as well, apparently attending the coronation.
-Tristan and Isolde had a lot of scenes with Merlin and Arthur, but also Gwen, Leon, Percival, and some random knights. Tristan, Isolde, Merlin, Leon, Percival and Gwen filmed at the same campsite. Knights and commoners were around as well.
-Merlin, Arthur and Sir Leon filmed a scene in the forest, at a camp site.
-Gwen was wearing a new dark brown outfit with some fur in the collar and chest area.
-Agravaine and his army of scary-looking, dark-clothed men invade Camelot. They have total control of the citadel.
-Morgana and Agravaine filmed a scene on horseback together riding through a forest.
-Merlin was wearing his new clothes.
-After the castle closed, torches were set up at the entrance of the vaults to film some scenes involving Morgana.

    September 8th:
-Pretty much everyone in the main and regular cast turned up.
-Alice Troughton was filming in the courtyard a scene involving Percival, Tristan and Isolde.
-Gaius, in a new outfit and Agravaine filmed a scene in the castle grounds.
-Arthur was fighting the dark clothed men that Agravaine led yesterday and he was yielding Excalibur. Apparently, it belongs to 4x12.
-Merlin and Gwen (in her new white embroidered shirt and dark brown long vest with fur outfit) filmed a scene in the forest. Both were holding swords.
-Arthur, Sir Leon, Sir Percival, Merlin, Gwen and Tristan walk through the forest sword in hand.

    September 9th:
-Arthur, with a new crown on, together with Agravaine, Leon, Gwaine, Percival, Merlin and some other random knights and courtiers stand at the entrance steps to the castle and welcome the princess played by Janet Montgomery. Her escort consists of army men dressed in dark clothes with green cloaks and a minotaur as a crest. Likewise, there are some flags around with the same creature on green background. Arthur walks up to the princess and after greeting her and exchanging some words he turns to those on the steps and announces a great feast to be held the next day to welcome the worthy princess. The news are received with a clap. This belongs to episode 4x11.
-The princess is wearing a white dress with a white furry overdress and a white veil.
    -There were husky dogs around.
-Arthur's wearing a ring on the ring finger of his right hand which appears to be the same one he was wearing in the June 23rd pictures (when they filmed the scene in which Arthur and Gwen walk down the castle steps and take a stroll across the courtyard with their arms laced.).
    -A throne was brought in.
-Gaius, Merlin and Elyan were filming down in the dungeons with Alice Troughton.
-They filmed a fire in the Lower Town, could be Gwen's house the one that caught fire.

    September 12th:
-External filming was made (the castle was closed). A tourney was being held.
-Leon, Percival, Gwaine, Merlin and Arthur were on set.
-There were filming a scene with all the knights (excluding Lancelot), Merlin and Arthur. First it seemed a bit like the usual comic relief where Arthur uses Merlin for target practice. He was hitting him with his sword, Merlin was protected with Arthur's helmet and a shield. But then Elyan started beating Merlin up with his sword as well, it seemd kinda serious at that point, Elyan seemed vivid, and he beat up Merlin to a point where he was lying on the ground and yet he still didn't stop. Only when Arthur interfered he stopped. It still looked like a training session, just way too serious. Neither Arthur nor the other knights realised at first how serious Elyan had been. It looked a bit as Elyan was possesed or maybe Merlin did something to provoke this reaction.
-They filmed another scene with Arthur and the princess in the courtyard, and also with Gaius and Merlin.
-The scene with Elyan, Merlin and Gaius in the dungeons belongs to 4x12.
-They were busy fighting what was called the "Southron army".

Thank you, you read me like an open book. That was pretty much the purpose of my previous post anyway

I had to stop posting spoilers last year because I run out of space (even though there were like 7 posts fully written) so I decided to allow some extra room this time.

Series 3 spoilers that never happened but could be revisited

-Lancelot will return to throw a spanner in the works to add barriers to Arthur and Guinevere. -They are considering to introduce a Dragon egg at some point. -Arthur's relationship with his father is really put into test as he learns the truth about his mother, which is disturbing information for him. -Morgana knows the truth about Ygraine and Arthur's birth. -There may be a romance ahead for Merlin. -Morgana was going to mess up with Gaus's head but she ends up killing him and starts going after his loved ones. -Merlin tells Gaius he's worried about his mother's safety should Ealdor get attacked. -Uther is everything that Arthur will eventually kick against. -Arthur will pull the sword out of the stone. -The show is mapped out to run for 5 seasons and Arthur will become king half way through series 5, pretty much towards the end of the show. -The marriage between Arthur and Gwen will happen after Arthur is king.

I think that Arthur will probably find out more about his birth and all that trouble and this will lead him to kick against his father more. As for pulling the sword from the stone that's got to be a 5th series thing.

I agree about the sword pulling being in season 5. I think that they're going to explore the Uther/Arthur relation further and the origins of Arthur. I really hope we won't see the Lancelot/Gwen thing make a comeback and the Merlin/random love interest thing... Freya was enough for me!
Wouldn't be surprised if Ealdor was in danger again (esp. now that Cenred is dead and Morgana on the move. It seems an obvious place to start a revenge.

That's the spoiler I find more interesting, together with the idea of Hunith not being safe. Arthur really needs to know the whole truth behind his birth, and we still have some unanswered questions as well. I think that Uther's secrets from the past are a great source for good drama.

Liking this new thread already! Thanks boom-moo! I do think Morgana heading to Ealdor to stir up trouble could be a viable storyline for S4. She knows Merlin will respond. And if Merlin responds, so will Arthur. One way of taking revenge, I suppose.

Also, the relationship between Uther and Arthur is forever changed, so it will be interesting to see where it will go from here on out. And of course, how will Uther rule Camelot now that the smelly cat's out of the bag?

I have a feeling we have not seen the last of the Lancelot/Gwen thing. Just a feeling though.

The Knights! Would love to see more knights in action. Doing what they do best - fighting! Esp the one with the gorgeous hair!

I think freya was enough for Merlin. I mean I think the idea of him loving someone for the rest of his life is rather romantic, and I think giving him another romantic interest would ditract for the storyline.

I can totally see Morgana going after Merlin's mum for revenge if Morgause did die. And just a little theory running through my head but since she is probably going to be on leave cause of the pregnancy maybe instead of killing she'll be in coma or something.

I am really hoping Arthur learns that thesecret of his birth is true.

yes! New thread, Fresh start. Cannot wait!

I'm still on a high from the end of season 3 so I won't go into detail, but some things I would love to see in season 4.
-Morgana not to come back for a while. I don't want her in the first few episodes. I am a huge Morgana fangirl, but I think her departure really needs time. Maybe come back in ep 5 in a really big way. I would even be happy if she came back in the last two eps of season 4 in a huge way!
-Morgause to be dead. Sorry but its true lmao. But then again, if Morgause is alive, she knows Gaius and possibly Merlin has magic. -And I agree the sword pulling would be during season 5. If not, then at the very end of season 4.
-Arthur to learn about his birth.
-I want to see how uther is!

Can't wait till march when they start filming again and the fan reports and set pictures start to float in!
