Especially legs with Nimueh - or breasts with Guinevere (to add her as well)

    I miss Nimueh...

I too love Arthur's brown coat. Next favourite is Morgause's stunning claret dress.
Worst: Lady Catrina's oversized dress with the very high collar which she wore during the next in line for throne ceremony.

Freya's dress when you first see her wasn't up to much.

    Best outfit Arthur's white shirt

I was waiting for someone to say this: I love it when he wears it in 2x10 to go to Gwen's house

Glad to oblige I was surprised that it hadn't been mentioned before!

This week's "The Best and Worst" category is "THE MOST FRIGHTENING/EERIE/MENACING VILLAIN".

My choice is The Knight of "Excalibur" episode. He was very menacing, and like death itself, sort-of relentless. And when he took of that helmet, he was even more bizarre.

I found Aredian the witchfinder very menacing - with his instruments of torture.

I would have gone for Aredian too but to mention someone different I'd say Mordred: he is a little creeper with an awful lot of creepy potential.

Morgause is a great villain too. Her plot in 2x12 was really good and the fact that her magic affected Merlin too made it really thrilling!

This week's category is "The Best and Worst Monster or Magical Creature". If you need a reminder the full list can be found in post 6 of the encyclopedia thread.

Best is the troll. I enjoyed how the ugly / dirt loving troll hated being pretty and clean. The contrast was hilarious.

Worst is the elanthia beetle from 1.06. I hate insects crawling over you but to have them enter the brain and then feast on it makes me shudder.

-Worst Monster or Magical Creature to me is the afanc. It has always looked really cheesy to me. I loved the whole reasoning about the 4 elements to find the proper way to destroy it though.

-Best Monster or Magical Creature to me is the wraith (Excalibur and Knights of Medhir). Bringing someone to life in a way that only the most powerful magic can destroy it is a huge and thrilling menace.

I agree with Esther, afanc is very cheesy. I laughed at it, and so did my friend who watched it

I'm with pcdsa on those bugs, creeping into ears and mouth and over eyes and lips and whatnot...

Best: The black knight is brilliantly creepy plus i also think the spiders in 1x04 are scary too but that's just because i really don't like spiders!

Worst: the griffin it's just not scary and the cgi was pretty bad!

I agree the execution of the afanc and griffin wasn't very good - the early days. But I too liked the idea of the afanc and how both Merlin and Arthur defeated it.

This weeks Best and Worst is The Best or Worse one line/short statement This should make us laugh!

    I've got a few favourites:

Arthur: It's destiny my love... destiny and chicken

    or

Merlin: But I'm not a witch! Look no dress or anything

    or

Merlin: Old crypts. I wouldn't be seen dead anywhere else

Well Destiny and Chicken is my no 1 also.

But I like the Great Dragon quotes:
    - A half cannot truly hate that what makes it whole.
    - You cannot do this alone. You are but one side of a coin. Arthur is the other.
    - (to Gaius) Then turn a blind eye. That is, after all, your talent.
