  • Just love this episode. Not very deep in plot, but has emotional depth in the end. Great, classic music for the series.

Nothing for me not to love here! Ted Nugent blowing people away and stealing their money, all with style, and a nice black Corvette! I love the music in this episode as well. While the plot is rather simple and has no depth, the chemistry and rhythm of the entire episode is special. The Joe Dalva character comes off as a total piece of scum fed more interested in his own agenda than the safety of one frightened witness. He gets pennance for it all, and all along Castillo told him it was a bad idea. Well-written and well-crafted. Ultimately, Godley & Creme's "Cry" really puts the emotional capper on it all.

  • This is one of my favorite episodes...

    9.9
Maybe it was Crockett stating: no matter how hot it gets sooner or later you always feel a cool breeze, yet later stating while on the beach that even the breeze was hot that day. Maybe it was the woman or the nuge... I think what did it for me was Crockett knowing the woman wasn't good for him but not being able to let it go, I suppose we have all been there one way or another. The ending on the beach when she see's what she believes to be Nugent but it was a mirage and then she see's Crockett, that look on her face, simply fantastic stuff.moreless
  • The most overrated Vice episode of all

    5.0
Even the prior review is glowing, but there isn't much story here. It's all style without much substance. Vice was good enough to get away with it, but the best epiosdes provides substance and emotion that is lacking here.

There is a memorable line, when Sonny and Rico await some action sitting under an umbrella on the beach. Sonny decries, "Even the breeze is hot today." (Then why is Rico wearing a jacket AND a vest? The man doesn't sweat or has killer deoderant.)

But from the trick casting of Ted Nugent to the so-so storylines that don't intersect well, this is average at best for me.moreless
  • Great episode!

    9.5
One of the quintessential episodes, with terrific guest performances by Ted Nugent and Arielle Dombasle. The story is pure noir, with a little VICE style twist. The opening shots with the huge white sand drifts is pretty amazing. They use music really well too; I love Godley & Creme playing "Cry" over the end. The subplot with the gangster wanting to see his sister is pretty great too. Just an all-around perfect example of the best of the series.moreless
