A man, a cop and a good friend

The squad reacts to Zito's death, with Switek blaming Crockett for pushing Zito too far in.

Crockett and Tubbs continue to persue Guzman, entertainly posing as liasons for a satellite sports network. (This is a weak point, as Guzman could've traced the nonexisting network, would've wanted a bigger fish anyway, and shouldn't have been that desperate.)

Meanwhile, Guilinni is upset that a rival is hitting on his Florida action. (He manages to call Guzman a taco and burrito.)

Switek is monitoring the situation and lets Guzman walk into a trap, but at the last minute alerts Corckett and Tubbs and races with them to the mall where Guzman has a jewelry store front.

A shootout ensues with Switek avenging his partners death. While in reality Switek should've been repremanded (and possibly fired) you accept that he made his peace. They toast Larry Zito in the end.

It was always interesting that Zito was never replaced. Switek never got another partner.moreless

- No one knows the exact reason why Zito was killed off. John Diehl says he was not satisifed with his part on the show. But it was reported at the time that Universal Television wanted the budget trimmed after a disappointed dip in ratings during the troubled second season of the series. It would seem the latter was more the reason, since Diehl was never replaced.
