then i still loved the premise, and the characters, and the acting, but the scripts kind of jumped the shark and the show jumped with them. it's been a while but i remember watching an episode, not having paid attention to who'd written it, and thinking (about a particular line) WAIT a minute, jack wouldn't say THAT! -- not as an afterthought but as a gut reaction, right then and there, and when it was done i rolled back the tape and guess who? good guess. and it happened every time. i think it killed the show, too, i mean got it canceled. what a pity. it had been a FINE, fine, show. i miss it.
