  • A pretty good episode but I was able to guess who the killer was quite early so it didn't have the usual suspenseful quality but still a very entertaining piece of tv as a local doctor is killed in a hit-and-run accident in a borrowed vehicle.

Dr. Alan Delaney definitely shouldn't have borrowed a vehicle belonging to his medical colleague Dr. James Kirkwood because when he did, he ended up dead in a hit-and-run accident.

When Barnaby investigates, he is convinced that the accident was nothing of the sort. He believes that Dr. Delaney was killed on the road deliberately after the killer mistook him for Dr. Kirkwood given that he was driving his vehicle at the time.

It seems that Kirkwood had a lucky escape because upon investigation, Barnaby finds that the man was greatly disliked by quite a few of the locals. Kirkwood was engaged to marry the divorced Delyth Mostin. She is a divorcee but Kirkwood's wife, Sarah, died of a terminal illness four years previously and her mother, for one, is not only unhappy about his re-marriage, but also still suspicious about the circumstances of Sarah's death.

Delyth's children are outraged at the idea of the upcoming marriage and so is one Clifford Rawnsley, a suitor rejected by Delyth. Clearly Barnaby and Jones have their hands full trying to sort out who ISN'T a suspect in Kirkwood's death given that there are so many, they obviously have their work cut out for them!
