AIRED:
This plot concerns forgery, old grudges and murder, centered around a piece of music and its composer. The retired music teacher, Arthur Leggot, is battered to death in his house which is now up for sale. Arthur Leggot used to teach a girl who later became a famous composer, Joan Alder. Joan Alder died in an accident during the mid 80s, and Barnaby and Scott start wondering if the reason why Leggot was murdered was because he surprised someone looking for an original musical score by Joan Alder which would now be worth a fortune.moreless

  • An entertaining episode with enough twists and turns to satisfy any crime buff as murders occur which are connected to the late Joan Alder, a famous composer.

    8.0
When an elderly retired gentleman is found murdered in his own home, Barnaby and Scott learn that his name is Arthur Leggot and that he once taught music to the famous local composer Joan Alder who became an international star, with her most famous piece being the beautiful 'Midsomer Rhapsody'.

Upon further investigation, Barnaby comes to believe that the reason for the murder may lay in the fact that Arthur Leggot was rumoured to have in his possession an original musical score written in the hand of Joan Alder herself which would be worth a large sum of money, particularly as the composer herself died in the 80s.

So, what does all this have to do with the tramp who is constantly seen hanging around? Is he the killer up to no good again or does he have a much deeper reason for his presence?

An episode which has some sad moments as well as some dramatic ones but also some lovely musical scores to make it even more entertaining. Watch it and find out the big secret revealed at the end!moreless
