  • A Picture Of Phillipa, at last !

    10
I just wanted to add my tuppence to this classic episode, and point out that which I think others missed. Lisa Goddard was in the final scenes as a pastiche of that wonderful character she played so well in Bergerac, namely that pert and sexy foil to the earlier Jersey policeman, the unstoppable Phillipa Vale. All the references to them having dated some thirty years ago, a massive clue to her surprise enterance at the end. It was great to see the two of them together again, especially when she asked for a picture of them together, as "family that might have been". Gosh you John Nettles fans, how'd you all miss that one ...moreless
  • Tom Barnaby, stalwart police office and all-around good citizen a suspect in a murder?! Say it isn't so! A fantastic episode where a member of the camera club is murdered and the most obvious suspect is DCI Barnaby!moreless

    9.0
When amateur photographer Lionel Bell is found dead in the woods, Tom Barnaby becomes the chief suspect when a photograph is found of Tom kissing the dead man's wife, who happens to be an old girlfriend, and from whom Bell was estranged at the time of his death. To make matters even worse for Tom, Bell had a notation in his diary which pegged him as a guest at Bell's home on the evening before the murder and, to top it all off, Barnaby's fingerprints are found in Bell's home and poor old Tom has no alibi for the time of the murder or for the evening before.

When a man whom Tom intensely dislikes is put in charge of the investigation and is convinced that Tom is guilty, things look pretty frim, especially when another murder occurs and all the evidence points to Tom again!

The question is, who is trying to frame the trusted police officer and why? Watch and find out, you'll be very glad you did. Excellent episode.moreless
