  • Who killed who and why would be an appropriate question for this episode when two members of the same family die thrity years apart on the exact same spot.

When a Midsomer Barrow landowner named Gareth Heldman is murdered with a large iron spear on the same spot where his father died some thirty years earlier. Clearly, there is something fishy going on and it's obviously no 'accident' that the father and the son died in the same place. The question is, who is responsible for the killing? Is it the 'new age' group who have arrived in the village to celebrate the Summer Solstice on June 21st or don't they have any connection at all?

As Barnaby investigates, he finds that Gareth and Roger Heldman both had rather complicated personal lives and it's obvious that the first death has to be looked at again in order to look for clues as to the perpetrator of the second one.
