  • One of my very favourite episodes with a ton of suspects for a string of murders, and all the suspects belong in the one family!

Sir Freddy Butler collected wives as regularly as he collected money and he was rather fond of a good meal too but with his ex wives and his children all gathered together, Sir Freddy falls down dead and Barnaby and Jones go along to investigate. There are suspicions about what may or may not have been in the old man's will and when his long-serving solicitor is murdered via arson, Barnaby is totally convinced that there was something in the will that the killer or killers didn't want the rest of the world to know about.

The question is, how do you track down a killer when the majority of the family close ranks, the ex wives are out for all the can (hopefully) get and everyone who is a suspect has a rock solid alibi. When a member of the family is murdered by someone who is, by any standards, a crack shot, the mystery deepens and Barnaby and Scott have to find out who their killer is before any more members of the Butler family meet their end.

A terrific and highly entertaining episode from start to finish with a host of very interesting and colourful characters. The plot moves fast and the whole thing will keep you guessing. Great stuff!
