  • A local doctor, slightly the worse for drink, knocks down a man in the road on his way home from a social evening, but the man then disappears.

    3.5
Francesca Ward (Yolanda Vasquez) is the beautifulowner of a riding school in the village of Newton Magna. Dr. Burgess, ( Ian McNeice) slightly the worse for drink, knocks down a man in the road as he leaves her property after spending a social evening there. He thinks he has killed him but there is no body to be found. Barnaby and Troy must locate the missing man to find out if he is alright and why he disappeared after being hit by a car, but they are sidetracked when a real dead body is found down a well.

The missing man, it turns out, is an Irish horse whisperer named Sean O' Connell (Sean McGinley) and he was in fact quite badly injured in the accident, however, a it is in the best interests of some local horse owners to have him up and about to do an important job for them which really doesn't help Barnaby who is trying to find a killer.

Terrible plot line and some pretty mediocre casting make this an episode that you could miss without actually missing anything.moreless
  • Again, good actors served with a tiresome plot.

    2.5
This episode is only worth watching to see Mel Raido (when he still had his flowing locks) and Noah Huntley (who would later on star (and die) in Holby City as Will Curtis) - woof, boys!

An Irish horse whisperer, a boozy doctor, a wedding and a well feature in this poor mystery...
