All in all, I thought this was a fairly weak episode, and Mighty Max is capable of being a lot better. The premise is silly. Virgil might have backed the wrong horse when he sent the cap to the kid who's taken on Skull Master, Cyber Skull, mutants, aliens, dragons, werewolves, and beaten them every single time? And, for that matter, without a gob of magic powers (I'm looking at you, Jake Long and June Lee). Nope, just the ability to think on his feet and a bagload of snappy one-liners. And *spoiler ahead* the only reason Maximilian is supposedly not the real Mighty One is because...he was Skull Master's dupe? Huh? *end spoiler* Max vs. Max has significance continuity wise, but isn't really to be watched as a sample of Mighty Max's quality.
