  • A great ending to the first season, tieing up all the thematic strings before we go on to a bigger, bolder second season.

This episode is one of my favorites, full of great character moments, an epic last stand at Skull Mountain and one of the best endings to any episode of Mighty max ever. The script is focused, this is about Max growing up and learning some life lessons from all over the world. The four heroes gathered in the story come from the four corners of the world, reinforcing Mighty Max\'s global awareness. Beowulf is probably the most recognisable to western viewers, Hanuman to eastern audiences. In fact, the four hero characters are so well written so as to getting across their characters with very little time on each of them. The relationship between Norman and Mujaji is wonderfully understated, and hanuman makes a great counter voice to Virgil\'s \"Destiny\" spiels. In the end though, what makes the episode is a fantastic ending which is is the grief of victory. This is no celebration, and the grief shown by Norman and Max is heart-breaking...and it\'s only on screen for under 30 seconds. A great ending to the first season, tieing up all the thematic strings before we go on to a bigger, bolder second season.moreless

    • Title: The Maxnificent Seven The title of this episode alludes to the classic western, The Magnificent Seven (1960) about a group of hired gunmen brought together to defend a Mexican village from bandits. The movie itself is a remake of Akira Kurosawa's 1954 classic, Shichinin no samurai (a.k.a. The Seven Samurai). Edit
