  • This was the first T.V. show based on the famous Mickey Spillane's character.

Darren McGavin was undoubtedly the best Mike Hammer of the screen, much much better than Stacy Keach and better than all the other actors who had portrayed this violent private eye, included the author Mickey Spillane who played the role in one motion picture. Darren was tough and you really can believe when the girls liked him, something hard to believe in the Keach's Hammer's case. The musical theme was great and quite original and his sport convertible car was cool. This show was great back in the 50's. Oh¡ how I would like to watch it again. I remember that many people started to wear the kind of hat this Mike Hammer wore.moreless
