The title The Three Amigas is a take on the movie comedy Three Amigos, which starred Steve Martin, Chevy Chase, and Martin Short as unemployed actors who think they're making a comeback when they're hired by a Mexican village to fight bandits. Only this is no story as the threat is real and the actors have to improvise, leading to comedy hijinks.
