With the rush to get past the Marburg virus and the retcon from Season 2, the writers deliver an episode that seems plucked from Chris Carter's other series. We have the shadowy conspiracy, the identical sisters, a nameless assassin with "Terminator" intensity and a climax in a missile silo.
There are times when even Lance Henriksen seems either bored or utterly confused with the episode. I guess it deserves some credit for capping off the remnants of storyline from Season 2, but this two-parter really didn't feel like a "Millennium" episode at all. Is it poorly done? No, the production values are still strong, and the chase through the bowels of the silo is well done, but something still feels...off about the proceedings.
A weak start, but things would start to pick back up (and get back to normal) with the next episode.
