    • NOTES (1)

      • The title of this episode "In Arcadia Ego" may refer to a phrase coined in 17th century Italy: "Et in Arcadia ego". The phrase rather elliptically expresses a humanistic sentiment: "Even in Arcadia I (i.e. Death) am to be found." In other words even the escapist, pastoral world of Arcady is no refuge from death. This theme is represented in two famous paintings "Et in Arcadia ego" (1618) by Guercino and "Et in Arcadia ego" or "The Arcadian shepherds" (1637-39) by Nicolas Poussin.

    • ALLUSIONS (1)

      • Plot Reference: The Virgin Mary
Even though never stated, the image in the bullet that was meant to kill Janette had the image of The Virgin Mary in it. Especially in the final scene when Frank Black compares it to the picture of the couple living in the house that Sonny and Janette tried to visit upon breaking out of prison, which had the address # 1225 (Dec 25th); an allusion in its own.
