Episode Summary

Episode 12

In the Season 1 Finale, two teams try to stop the drop. First, Jennifer and David Belsky, who have been married for two years, are hoping to win money to buy their dream home. They eloped after dating for only three weeks and live in a small apartment. Now that they have a dog, a cat and a five-month old son, they need more space.
Next up are best friends Alain Pierre and Steve Luther, trivia buffs who are looking for the ultimate challenge.

  • I'm kind of going to miss this :(

Being the Editor of this guide, I follow along and type out the questions, answers and results for each show. I also write down the odd quote and submit crew and synopses, but the fun part is transcribing the game's details. I've found myself looking forward to the shows as a bit of a treat for that reason.

I've also enjoyed the couples on the show, especially the married ones. There's something about couples working together and telling each other that they love each other, especially in our 50%+ divorce rate society.

The show certainly has its flaws, but it has improved as it's gone on. I think the biggest complaint was the speed, specifically the lack thereof. Having two couples and more questions per show is a step forward. I think the host does a very good job and the concept of giving the money up front is unique. I guess we'll see if survives for a second season.moreless

  • QUOTES (3)

    • Alain: First, we were going to Hooters Trivia Night, but it wasn't challenging enough.
      Steve: Yeah.
Alain: So we went to another place but the questions weren't challenging enough again. We kept dominating at every Trivia Night that we went to, so we keep looking for a bigger challenge.
Steve: So we're here tonight for the biggest challenge of all…
Alain: And we're gonna (shouting together) stop the Drop!

    • Kevin: I have to ask the question that on the minds of most people watching now: You went to Hooters for Trivia Night?
Steve: There's also very good wings there.
      Kevin: I see. All right.
      Alain: Good answer!

    • (discussing Question 5)
Steve: A lot of people, I feel like if they're at home, they're using the bathroom, maybe they're trying to run back to the TV, watch Million Dollar Money Drop, they may not have time, they may not think to wash their hands.
Alain: May not think to. OK. I do, but I see where you're coming from.
