Missing Links

Show Summary

"Missing Links" had a panel of three celebrities assisting guest contestants in a variation of "I've Got A Secret" (both shows by the Goodson-Todman company). The contestant has a story regarding something he/she has done, and the story is in four segments. The contestant reads the segments out loud, one at a time, and each segment has one or two words missing at the end. The panel, in turn, must guess what goes in the blanks. A successful guess during the first pass along the panel wins the contestant $50. If the panel guesses wrong, the answer is shown to the audience and home viewers, and the host gives the first letter of each missing word to the panel. A correct guess this time wins the player $25. Three guests are employed, with the last guest a celebrity. Ed McMahon hosted "Missing Links" on NBC, on which it debuted on September 9, 1963 (the same date "The Price Is Right" moved to ABC). Six months later, on March 30, 1964, the show moved to ABC and it had a new host--Dick Clark.moreless
