Episode Summary

EDIT

Kroll and Stevens run the Northeast Syndicate and the IMF must bring them down. In '37 the two of them killed a rival mobster, hid the body, and killed the witnesses, so the IMF needs to get Kroll to lead them to the remains. They grab Kroll, drug him up, and cosmetically alter him to look like he was in '37. Then they dump him on a Hollywood set and convince him through incredibly elaborate means he is in 1937 on the day of the murder and the rest of his life is a dream.

  • Far-fetched, but a lot of fun

This episode was far-fetched, but a lot of fun. I would imagine it was fun for the actors as well, and it reminded me of those Star Trek: Next Generation episodes where Picard spent time in the holodeck being an old-time private eye.

Much of the episode was very over-the-top and, in particular, the ending was totally over-dramatized. But the over-dramatization was OK, because there was no "message" being preached, which had happened in the last episode of Season Four, and a few episodes in Season Five.

I liked the realism of how, in two instances, bringing in a huge number of role players with varying abilities almost scuttled the mission do to people making errors. I thought it was a little odd that, in addition to those two, Jim himself almost blew the mission with a rookie mistake, but that's dramatic license, I guess.moreless
