  • It's not enough to just pull off a rescue this week for the IMF.

It's really two impossible missions in one in "Operation Heart," as Jim and Company must rescue an ill American archeologist and defuse a coup against a friendly president. What's neat about this con is the team tries to prove that the innocent archeologist really is an American agent.

In many episodes, the bad guys never catch wise to the plan until it's far too late, but in this one, the duplicitous conspirator begins to smell a rat pretty early in the game. He knows that Bennett isn't a spy, and so he's immediately suspicious of all of the "evidence" that seems to indicate otherwise. His face at the end of the episode when "Bennett's" (aka Rollin's) dying confession is delivered is great. It's refreshing to see an antagonist who almost outthinks the team, rather than simply being caught totally unawares.

Rollin gets three disguises this week, and the best is also the briefest - his angry elderly hospital patient who demands a private room. Jim takes one for the team, literally, courtesy of a bullet through the shoulder. Though the medical scenes are a little hokey to watch now, the plan itself, involving a bomb scare in the hospital, is well executed, and it makes for an engaging episode.
