  • very good 2 part episode.

    8.5
leonard nimoy is rather stiff and even somewhat dull in comparison to martin landau, though certainly competent.

the loss of barbara bain's cinnamon is significant. she added a flair and sly smile.

bain's award winning performances coupled with landau's prodigous acting talents and versatility are sorely missed. the show doesn't have quite the same feel as it did before (and never got it back).

that said, this two part episode is on par with the some of the best episodes of season 3. definitely worth watching.moreless

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (5)

    • The hair of the stunt double that jumps out of the car is noticeably darker than Peter Graves'.

    • The car that Jim is driving is a 60s model sedan. However, when he triggers the explosive, they cut to stock footage of a much older 40s-style car with a box-style driver-passenger chassis that extends all the way to the back.

    • When Paris visits Jim in his jail cell, he has no idea that Borodin is dead. However, Paris has been doing nothing since he left the prison halfway through the previous episode. He's not at the warehouse when Jim and Barney come up with the alternate plan, but there is plenty of time for them to have called him... wherever he is and tell him what's going on.

    • For some reason Willy's prison cell has a lock on the inside. This makes it conveniently easy for him to pick the lock and escape.

    • For some reason, Barney wears smooth-soled street shoes for his perilous climb up the water tower.
