  • Good guest turn from Edmond O'Brien as the villain of the week.

    7.0
Film noir star and veteran Hollywood tough guy Edmond O'Brien plays the IMF's mark this week, a corrupt medico who is behind a counterfeit drug operation. In a neat bit of trickery, the team makes him believe he's had a stroke, and that his treatment involves taking his own phony pills.

It's a nice domestic plot for the show, and one that refreshingly does not involve mob bosses. Plus, in Raymond Halder you have a genuinely unscrupulous villain whose schemes are harming thousands of innocent people. The only complaint I have is that the scheme seems unnecessarily complicated. Cinammon infiltrates Halder's inner circle as a drug company to gain his confidence, but Rollin and Jim also go in as "corrupt" cops...it just seems like the overall goal could have been accomplished without all of that. After all, all they really need to do is induce the "stroke" and get him sent to the hospital.

It's an improvement over some episodes from Season 2, but for once the IMF plan is too clever for its own good.moreless
