Although the characters, the brutal diamond mogul and his two henchmen were interesting they were somewhat flat. The cat was a nice touch and offered a bit of a challenge for Barney to "knock it out" Rolland and Briggs played up their roles and interestingly used their real names (why not ?) BUT.....the big glaring fly in the oinment was that this auction (and action) was to take place in London .The one in England I presume. So why were the vehicles in the street scenes traveling on the opposite sides of the road ? Someone forgot ! Also, not so much as noticable to those who do not travel abroad was that the elecrical outlets that Barney was working through to gain access to the bedroom were of the U.S.A. 125 a.c. variety. Not the traditional 220 volt circular European type with round pin plugs instead of the long slits we use here. That aside, it was interesting. I wonder why they employed the Scotland Yard author to play himself when they could have used an actor ? Would it have mattered ? Presumably the villian did not have enough sense to run out of the warehouse when the machine was obviously going to explode. Well, I guess he did not want to leave his precious jewel behind.....ah, the price of GREED.moreless
