When Jim removes the tape recorder from the drawer at the beginning of the episode, there is a dust cover on it; when he starts the tape the cover is gone. While the tape is playing the cover reappears then disappears once again. When the cover is off the tape is near the end of the reel; when the cover is on, there is more tape left on the reel. Finally, when the tape self-destructs, a completely different tape recorder with different tape reels is shown.
Mishenko: Where are you taking him?
Jim: Where he came from, back to the Federal penitentiary.
Mishenko: Leave him to us. We'll take good care of him, I promise you.
Jim: Mr. Mishenko, you can have him in about 19 years.
