Missions That Changed the War

Show Summary

Missions That Changed the War is The Military Channel series that tells the stories of the covert operations and crucial actions that changed the course of World War II. The show is hosted by Actor Gary Sinise, who provides narration for the stories of brave soldiers and bold operations. The series is split up into three four-hour miniseries, telling the stories of The Doolittle Raid, Germany's Last Ace, and The Flying Tigers. The Doolittle raid seemed like an insignificant mission at the time, but in retrospect was much more important to the war in Japan. Germany's Last Ace tells the story of the misguided Nazi strategy on the eastern front, using the first-person account of the most decorated Luftwaffe aviator, Gunter Rall. Finally we step into the story of The Flying Tigers, the crucial bombing missions that stopped the fall of China. Using historical footage, historian interviews, and first-hand tales from those who served in the war, the stories of the landmark missions of WWII come alive on The Military Channel's Missions That Changed the War.moreless
