Rogers takes four sweaters out of his closet after putting one on. He shows a picture of his mother, who had knitted all the sweaters in Rogers' closet. He says that Bob Trow was fixing a knitting machine at his workshop (not when we saw him). At the workshop, Rogers finds Trow working a bubble machine for an underwater movie. A turning wheel and a fan produce a massive number of bubbles. When Rae Gold enters, she and Trow finally show Rogers the knitting machine (some of its needles had been bent). At Trow's request, she exchanges the yarn in the machine and knits a red stripe.
In the NOM, Lady Aberlin and Handyman Negri have a sweater for Reardon. Lady Aberlin decides to be a sweater-maker. She asks where Lady Elaine got her sweater ("I made it, toots"). At the school, Daniel suggests a rocking-chair sweater. It's an idea that surprises even Lady Aberlin and Corny. Lady Aberlin shows the sweater she made for Reardon. Once he arrives in the NOM, Reardon runs into Lady Elaine. He sings a piece from a light opera he will perform that night. Lady Elaine suggests Reardon can play a TV newsman in Bubbleland.
Back at the television house, Mr. McFeely brings his video camera to play a videotape of people making sweaters at a factory.
