Rogers brings a pasta maker, which helps people turn dough into spaghetti noodles. He calls in advance of his visit with John Costa Jr., who loaned him the machine. John Jr. mixes 2 cups flour, one egg and one-third cup lukewarm water to make his spaghetti dough. He shares some of the secrets his grandmother (who had appeared on Show #1455) taught him. John Jr. kneads the dough from the center. He also shows how people would cut noodles by hand. Then he uses the machine to cut his noodles. John Costa Sr. tells Rogers how he learned to give children small portions. Both go to the television house anticipating the spaghetti dinner. John plays I'm Proud Of You on the piano as Rogers sings. In the NOM, Bob Dog is about to express his dour feelings to Lady Aberlin and Handyman Negri, but King Friday interrupts to congratulate the all-out effort. Lady Aberlin and Handyman Negri tell Bob Dog about disappointments. It emboldens Bob Dog to go to the Clock. Daniel is still tending to the vegetable soup cans he has planted. Bob Dog tells Daniel the truth, that he crafted the vegetable soup tree. He also suggests that Daniel could offer his friendship to those in Northwood. They uproot the planted soup cans. Old Goat emerges with a thank-you card from Northwood. The King and Queen present Old Goat with the longest string of spaghetti in the world for the Northwood cause. In addition, Musical Director Costa goes on the voyage to play the accordion. Back at the television house, Rogers talks of food for the being, the soul, and the spirit.
