1603: Fun & Games, Part Three
Rogers has borrowed a woven basket from a Native American friend. It is kept outside the friend's door, with the pledge that anyone who visits, can leave their worries in the basket. There are many baskets in the world, and Mr. McFeely has brought several of them. Inside one basket is a foam ball and a brochure from the Special Olympics. Mr. McFeely tells Rogers that Special Olympics coach Rick Agretto is coaching Alycia Romano at the gym today. Rogers observes all the baskets. One of them is actually a ball-and-cup. Rogers goes to the high-school gym to observe the Special Olympics in training and activities. Rick Agretto leads Rogers to Alycia Romano. Rogers walks the balance beam as instructed. They see Alycia win the wheelchair race.
In the NOM, Lady Aberlin, Bob Dog, Miss Paulifficate, and Handyman Negri are playing Here We Go 'Round The Mulberry Bush. King Friday says there are more important things to do. Miss Paulifficate shows King Friday her beeper, which alerts her back to her post. Bob Dog asks King Friday to play Here We Go 'Round The Mulberry Bush. It's the first time the King has ever been invited to play a game. King Friday admits that he was not fine at playing games when he was young. Randy S. Caribou enters, announcing the boy-girl-reindeer-tiger team. Bob Dog says that, like King Friday, he had never been good at games. Randy invites Bob Dog to his new team, and quickly Lady Aberlin and King Friday join. It's now called the king-woman-dog-boy-girl-reindeer-tiger team.
Back at the television house, Rogers remembers how he had finally been chosen for a basketball team, and how good he felt when he made a basket.
