Rogers works a jack-in-the-box. He says it's hard for the jack to go away, much the way parents find it hard to go away and leave their children. The jack-in-the-box also has ties to peek-a-boo and hide-and-seek. Rogers says these games help teach patience. After a phone call from an old friend, Rogers sees how his bean plant has grown.
In the NOM, Purple Panda returns with a spray compound he calls "4-P," or "Planet Purple Plant Powder." It only works on plants to help them grow. At the Clock, Purple Panda finds a note from Daniel Striped Tiger. He has gone on a stroll with Robert Troll and the Big Thing. Purple Panda tests his 4-P on the flowers on the wall. Prince Tuesday wants Purple Panda to spray 4-P on him, but Purple Panda tells him to just keep growing the way little boys grow.
Everyone gathers at the Castle. Robert Troll jabbers about his jaunt with the Big Thing, who thanks Mayor Maggie. King Friday XIII tells Prince Tuesday he is growing at the right pace, and growing royally. At the Big Thing's request, Purple Panda mists 4-P on the Big Thing, and it sprouts a large flower. They all dance at the Big Thing's request.
Back in the real neighborhood, Rogers visits his old friend François Clemmons and the Harlem Spiritual Ensemble. The ensemble started as a duet, but grew steadily to include seven people. They perform I Think Of You (from the opera A Granddad for Daniel). Rogers explains that, in every country, human beings grow in similar fashion. When Rogers returns to his television house, he takes the plant and mister (i.e., atomizer) with him to his real house.
