Rogers has picture of David Ford, which he pastes in his photo album. After pasting the picture to an empty page, he leafs through the other pictures. Ford calls Rogers, inviting him to the Aviary. Rogers finds Ford taking a census of birds in the Marsh Room. Ford identifies the mandarin duck, the scarlet ibis, the flamingo, and the spoonbill. Another room represents a water hole in the desert. Ford identifies the superb starling, among others. Both bring a tray of food into one room, just in time for a toucan to eat grapes. Before leaving, Rogers notices the crown-pigeon and the ground-cuckoo. At the television house, Rogers says he didn't see the mockingbird or the wren at the Aviary. In the NOM, King Friday is upset at his wooden birds. He tells Queen Sara that he is tired of his neighbors not working. Mayor Maggie invites the birds to help her on her work with the "Museum of Love." Mimus polyglottos agrees to go, but not Troglodytes aedon. Lady Elaine says anybody who has ever loved anybody or anything, can help her in the exhibit. At her instruction, Mayor Maggie signs her count from three to nine. Lady Elaine produces a viewer, through which Mayor Maggie and Mimus see the things Lady Elaine loves. Mayor Maggie suggests that Lady Elaine produce and star in a soap opera. Robert Troll stops by, bird-watching. Lady Elaine suggests that he watch X the Owl. Before he goes, Robert Troll asks to be an usher for Lady Elaine and Mayor Maggie's soap opera. At the Tree, Robert Troll tells X the Owl of his plans. X says he loves oranges. King Friday acknowledges Robert Troll's work. But he is not pleased that Mayor Maggie is playing out the soap opera.
