Later in the program, Sylvia Earle visits the television house, where screen a videotape on the sounds of fish. • TRIVIA (2)

      • Rogers' reflection on "scary TV" was excerpted from The News Hour with Jim Lehrer when they featured an obituary for him in which he speaks for all smart television viewers.

      • The flashback of Rogers snorkeling with Sylvia Earle was taken from episode 1619 which first aired in early 1990.

    • QUOTES (2)

      • Mr. Rogers: Do you have a place that you can go to be quiet when you want?

      • Mr. Rogers: I was just thinking. Did you ever hear loud, scary sounds on television? Well, some television programs are loud and scary with people shooting and hitting other people. You know, you can do something about it. When you see scary television, you can turn it off. And when you do turn it off, that will show that you're the strongest of them all. It takes a very strong person to be able to turn off scary TV.

    • NOTES (2)

      • This was the program that aired on PBS the morning of Rogers' passing February 27, 2003.

      • Goodbye to Bob Dog (Robert Trow), who never appears again after this episode, although Trow continues to be mentioned. Mister Rogers obviously would have wanted to give Bob Dog more eloquent final words, but it was not to be. On November 2, 1998, less than four months before this program aired, Robert Trow died of a heart attack.
