Episode Recap

Rogers shows children's paintings of animals. He goes to the neighborhood zoo, where he hopes to see live pandas. When he enters the zoo, the first thing he sees, are the seals. He then goes to the giant pandas. Barbara Bingham brings him to the room where the zoo helpers prepare the animals' food. Rogers and Bingham place the food in an area before the pandas arrive. When they cross the fence, they observe one panda eating. Bingham goes off to another duty, leaving Rogers to observe the elephant, giraffes, lions, and tiger by himself. The NOM is lavishly decorated for Ana's birthday parade. Grand Marshall King Friday starts the parade, with baton-twirling Miss Paulifficate blowing the starter's whistle. Purple Panda is at the front of the parade, beating a drum. Following him is a whale, two gorillas, and an elephant (among other neighbors). All the puppet characters express joy or talk of the overwhelming size of the parade. Ana wonders where her pet is. Lady Aberlin, at the end of the parade, has it: a kitten. Ana and her friends go off for a quiet birthday party of their own. There, Daniel gives the red truck to Ana. King Friday is angered at the thought of that private party, but when he and Handyman Negri see how Lady Aberlin, Prince and Daniel share their affection for Ana, the King recants. Back at the television house, Rogers shows the sign language for "I love you." Songs: Won't You Be My Neighbor?, Parade Instrumental, There Are Many Ways To Say "I Love You" (first verse only), Good Feeling.
