Episode Recap

Rogers brings in a box containing a toy truck. Before opening the box, he affixes two labels: one says "toy truck," the other is a drawing of a toy truck. He says that, when he plays with a toy truck, he thinks of real trucks (video montage). Chuck Aber stops by with his H.J. Elephant III puppet. He shares with Rogers the same things he will share with schoolchildren: learning to read. He shows the book I Read Signs by Tana Hoban (which begins with the sign "Come in, we're OPEN"). In the NOM, the Trolley bears a sign advertising The Reading Game with Lady Elaine, H.J. Elephant and Prince Tuesday. H.J. tells Lady Aberlin that he knows sign language, even if he can't read very well. Everyone vacates the Castle except the recently-arrived Chuck Aber, who is carrying Mayor Maggie's backpack. It's the chance King Friday wants to test the device for looking into things. When Chuck Aber tests the device on the backpack, he gets the word "nothing" displayed. King Friday is convinced the device doesn't work. Aber knows the device works, and demonstrates it on the Tree. He sees X working his printing press. X and Henrietta discuss the device (which Aber tests on her house) and express their reservations about that device. Aber and Lady Aberlin assure everyone that no machine can read someone's feelings. Lady Elaine broadcasts an APB for H.J. Elephant III, because she will start The Reading Game. Back at the television house, Mr. McFeely shows a videotape on how people make handmade paper. Songs: Won't You Be My Neighbor?, You're The Only One, Speedy Delivery To You (second version), Good Feeling.
