MLK: The Assassination Tapes

Show Summary

MLK: The Assassination Tapes is the Smithsonian Channel one-hour documentary which uses rare images, video and audio to tell the story of the historic murder of Dr. Martin Luther King. The footage mostly comes from the Special Collections Division at the University of Memphis, and much of it has never been seen since they first gathered it in 1968. Using only the archived footage with no narrator or interviews in the present day, the documentary paints an emotional picture of the events leading up to one of the defining moments in American History.
