Major League Soccer is, by soccer standards, a small event. When compared to the Champions League or FIFA its nothing more but a small blip. But the blip is growing, gaining more fans and publicity each season and begining a expansion process that will continue til 2011.
Soccer is a world wide sport if not The Most Popular sport, but it has always struggled in Football and Baseball based America, fighting for money and position in the media its still a young child in the States.
