  • Australian Tourism Ad brought to you by Modern Family

    7.0
This particular episode got to my core simply because I was feeling nostalgic. Most of the scenes were shot in Sydney, where I went to college and I haven't been there since graduation. So half of the time, I was just somewhere reminiscing the times where I chill in Circular Quay, enjoying the Sydney Opera House, drunk, and start talking nonsense to my girlfriend. Then Cam and Mitchell went to The Argyle and I was thinking how I got drunk there. Then they went to the bush, and I thought how come I never got drunk there...

Anyway, the whole episode was basically an Australian Tourism Ad. They even had Optus as a product placement in one of the scene. It was, nonetheless, a very cleverly put ad. They are in holiday, anyway. So it made sense for them to explore the city. One thing that I found very popular among Americans are that they think Australia is filled with hazardous animals. Its true, although you probably have to live in the bush to experience that. Rarely do I hear people got attached by animals. With Phil's luck, however, I guess it became sort of expected that he would get hurt. First by jellyfish sting and then by a kangaroo. Actually, a red kangaroo can split your stomach open with their foot. Wait, I'm suppose to make a positive point here. Anyway, yes, there are a lot of dangerous animals in Australia, but no, people don't randomly got punched in the face by kangaroo or bitten by crocodile. One thing that's true though, the surfers are definitely a hot commodity.moreless
