      • During peacekeeping operations in Bosnia, 16 Chinooks flew 2,222 hours, carried more than 3,000 passengers and transported over 3 million pounds of cargo in just 6 months.

      • At the conclusion of the battle of Tarawa in 1943, 90 of the 125 LVTs that saw action were lost. Eight failed mechanically and 82 were disabled or destroyed by enemy fire.

      • The KC-135 Stratotanker can supply as much as 30,000 gallons of fuel during one mission – a volume large enough to power 50 cars with average gas mileage for one year.
