Brandy Norwood, who recently did a stint as a judge on NBC's America's Got Talent, may be slapped with a vehicular manslaughter charge stemming from an auto accident that occured in December.
The California Highway Patrol has found that Norwood was at fault in the December 30 accident in which Norwood's Land Rover rear-ended another car on an LA-area freeway. The driver of the car Norwood rear-ended was killed when his car was sent into traffic and was broadsided by another car.
The CHP says Norwood should be be charged with a misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter, which carries a maximum penalty of one year in jail and a $1,000 fine. Prosecuters will now determine whether or not to accept that charge or charge her with felony manslaughter, which carries a stiffer penalty.

Singer/actress Brandy, who starred in the 1990s UPN sitcom Moesha, is headed to rival WB for a comedy that will explore the life of a young woman after she hits 25.
Brandy will play a diehard New Yorker who moves to Los Angeles to take a job as an entertainment editor. The pilot for the untitled project will be written by Girlfriends creator Mara Brock Akil.
Akil first met Brandy and her brother, actor Ray J, on The Sinbad Show, where Ray J was a cast member and Akil was production assistant.
"They both told me that I was going to be huge in this business," Akil said. "They believed in me when I was answering phones--I've never forgotten that."
