Not much of a Moesha episode, but a good way to start a spin-off. The series then had a spinoff a year later, due to the conflict between Countess Vaughn and Brandy. Loved the episode, it was so funny, and I knew Kim had it in her to bring her mother to the college she was desperate to be in. Also, it would've been nice if Moesha was in it, I only saw her in the beginning and end of the episode.moreless

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • In the scene where Kim and Nikki are choosing courses and go to the "Black Studies" section, the Professor is known as Professor Ogletree (even on his name tag), but in "The Parkers", he is known as Professor Oglevee.

    • As previously stated, this episode served as a back-door pilot for the future spin-off, "The Parkers." Many speculated that the real reason Countess Vaughn was given her own show was because of the heated rivalry between her and Brandy. If you notice, Brandy is not featured in this episode at all expect for the opening scene that paid homage to "The Twilight Zone."

  • NOTES (3)

    • The "Is that my mama?" exchange (see Quotes, below) was repeated in the initial episode of "The Parkers," the spinoff which was setup by this episode.

    • This episode served as the pilot for the spin-off, Mo'Nique which was later renamed The Parkers.
