Hakeem states that he will attend California University (to be closer to Moesha). This must mean that he apparently transferred out of Santa Monica College (the same college from "The Parkers"). But if Hakeem was previously enrolled in a two-year college, how could he attend California University so early?
It is alleged that this episode caused cast member Sheryl Lee Ralph to quit the show after filming the remainder season 5. During The sixth and final season, Sheryl Lee Ralph only appeared on the show when her character Dee was necessary.
The controversial storyline of this episode would dominate black morning talk shows and various internet message boards for a brief period. Many became upset that father is made out to look like a bad guy. Several DJ's including Frank Ski in Atlanta urged viewers to stop watching the series.
Yvette Wilson does not appear in this episode. She has joined the cast of The Parkers as a regular continuing in her role as Andell and will remain on this show until the end of the season.
