One of the most dominant seasons in 49ers history was 1997. They had won eight in a row (their first seven against divisional opponents).       • Following the game, a fan in the upper deck fired a flare gun in the stands. No one was injured, but the City of Philadelphia decided to place a courtroom and holding cell in the bowels of the stadium. (The courtroom was discontinued early in the 2003 season due to a decline in fan arrests)

      • Final score: 49ers 24, Eagles 12. San Francisco controlled the game from start to finish en route to a 24-12 win, highlighted by a Merton Hanks fumble return for a touchdown, and a 73-yard Chuck Levy punt return TD.
