It's been a while since someone tried the "adult puppets" genre, but it still works. I grew up watching "Spitting Image", and I loved the adult puppet film "Meet the Feebles", so I might be a little biased in saying I find this show quite enjoyable. "Mongrels" has the foul-mouthed dialogue of "South Park", and the satirical cutaways of "Family Guy", but it also has a charm and comedic theme all it's own; Where else would you find an 'urbane' fox, a would-be terroist pidgeon, and a borderline retarded housecat?
The jokes come thick and fast, playing up human/animal relationships, the ways of wild animals, and even modern technology and everyday situations.
A great show in my opinion, and I would recommend it to anyone who isn't too prudish about near-the-knuckle chuckles.moreless
